Pantone™ PMS 7537 C

PMS 7537 C is a muted gray with low saturation, which generally means it provides reliable coverage compared to bright or highly saturated Pantone colors. However, coverage can be affected by the substrate, previous color, and chosen paint type. For best results and consistent brand appearance, apply PMS 7537 C over a similar or neutral primer and plan for at least two coats, especially if covering dark or contrasting surfaces. This helps ensure the color appears uniform and true to the intended Pantone reference.

The visual perception of PMS 7537 C can change noticeably based on the selected finish. Matte finishes will keep the muted, subtle nature of the color and minimize reflections, while gloss or satin finishes may make PMS 7537 C appear brighter or even slightly alter its undertone due to increased reflectivity. Final color perception may also depend on surrounding lighting. When color consistency is critical for branding, specify the finish clearly and evaluate samples in intended lighting to ensure the finished result maintains the desired visual impact.

The Safety Data Sheet for PMS 7537 C paint depends on the product or paint type selected, not the Pantone color code itself. To access the correct SDS, choose your desired paint format and refer to the SDS library for that product. Review SDS documentation before use to ensure you have the compliance, safety, and application details needed for your specific project.

Pantone PMS 7537 C is designed for brand consistency, not touch-up or repair use. For touch-up-grade results, send a physical part or sample to be matched specifically to your substrate and finish. Standard Pantone-based matching is ideal when visual brand alignment is needed for displays, signage, or prototypes, but not for restoration or material-specific repairs.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
