PMS 7511 C is part of the Pantone PMS collection, a system prioritized for consistent brand and marketing color reproduction. This color conveys a sense of groundedness, naturalness, reliability, and muted sophistication. Visually, PMS 7511 C provides an earthy, adaptable presence well-suited to environments intending warmth without overt saturation. The tone is widely considered practical for brand experiences requiring approachable and neutral brown hues.

PMS 7511 C appears as a medium-dark brown, with a light reflectance value (LRV) of 21.97, indicating moderate low reflectivity.

The color exhibits a distinct warm tendency, favoring yellow-brown overtones rather than coolness.

PMS 7511 C has moderate saturation, delivering chromatic presence without intensity or vividness.

The undertone is strongly warm and earth-driven, with an amber to ochre influence.

This color generally maintains character across a range of paint finishes, but gloss or matte sheens can influence the perceived depth and temperature.

PMS 7511 C is effective for applications where a warm, muted brown is required to anchor a palette or project a natural, inviting character—especially in branded displays, fixtures, or fabricated environments. Color appearance may shift with lighting conditions, so it is recommended to examine a sample in the intended setting and finish. Compared to other browns, PMS 7511 C is less saturated and less dark than deeper chocolate or espresso tones, while maintaining more chromatic warmth than neutral grays or taupe alternatives.

Similar colors:

  • PMS 7510 C: Lighter and more yellow-leaning, resulting in a brighter, sandier effect.
  • PMS 7512 C: Deeper in chroma and slightly darker, offering a more intense, saturated brown-orange appearance.
  • PMS 465 C: Lighter, more neutral, and less saturated, creating a softer, more subdued brown tone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7511 C

What should I know about VOCs and safe handling when ordering paint in PMS 7511 C?

The VOC content, safety precautions, and handling requirements for PMS 7511 C depend on the specific paint type and format you select, such as spray paint, house paint, or specialty coatings. Always review the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) provided with your order for details about ventilation, protective gear, and environmental considerations. Follow all label directions and local regulations to ensure safe use. If you have project restrictions related to air quality or workplace standards, confirm product suitability before ordering PMS 7511 C in any format.

How much area will a spray can of PMS 7511 C cover and how do I calculate what I need?

One aerosol spray can of PMS 7511 C typically covers about 20 square feet with one coat on a smooth, primed surface. Coverage may be reduced by surface texture, color contrast, and whether multiple coats are required for full hide. For optimal brand consistency and to avoid running short, estimate total surface area, account for surface roughness, and plan for extra if a second coat is likely needed for even coverage. When in doubt, consult with your team and consider ordering a sample or an extra can.

When is it recommended to sample PMS 7511 C before placing a full order?

Sampling PMS 7511 C is recommended for projects where brand color accuracy is mission-critical, such as large displays, permanent installations, or high-visibility commercial applications. Sampling is especially important if the final substrate, finish, or lighting conditions could affect how the color appears. Obtaining a sample lets you review PMS 7511 C in the intended environment and finish, helping you avoid costly rework or brand compliance issues later. This is a best practice for approval workflows or multi-vendor projects.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7511 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 7511 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 7511 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How much area will one spray can cover? And what is Pantone PMS 7511 C spray paint made of?

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 7511 C. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

How do I get the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) for paint matched to Pantone PMS 7511 C?

Do I need a primer for Pantone PMS 7511 C?
The need for primer for Pantone PMS 7511 C depends on the type of paint, the substrate being painted and where it will be located. See our Primer Selection Table to see what primer you might need and learn more about when you might need a primer. Most people don't use a primer for a touch up paint application, but a primer may improve adhesion and is typically recommended for exterior applications.
How do I convert PMS 7511 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7511 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
