PMS 7494 C is commonly specified as a brand standard for signage, display fixtures, and exhibit elements where visual consistency and alignment with corporate colors are required. If your project calls for PMS 7494 C, you are aiming for a visual match to the Pantone code, not a specific paint formula or finish. Because the appearance of PMS 7494 C may shift based on substrate and finish, it is best practice to sample the color on the actual material and in the environment where it will be used. This approach helps confirm that the final result aligns with your branding and meets stakeholder expectations.

Proper surface preparation is key to achieving a consistent finish with PMS 7494 C paint. Begin by cleaning the surface to remove dust, grease, and other contaminants. Use an appropriate degreaser or cleaner for the material. For most substrates, lightly scuffing with fine abrasive will help promote adhesion, but always confirm compatibility for specialty materials. Before full application, test a small area of PMS 7494 C paint to check adhesion and appearance. This prevents surprises and helps ensure effective coverage and a uniform result.

Safety and VOC (volatile organic compound) levels for PMS 7494 C paint depend on the specific product formulation and format you select, such as spray paint or urethane. PMS 7494 C is intended for creating brand-consistent finishes on new signage, displays, and brand environments. If you need a true touch-up color match for an existing part or surface, you should submit a physical sample of the actual part to ensure accurate matching. Specifying PMS 7494 C alone is not sufficient for touch-up or repair-grade color needs, as variations in substrate, sheen, and aging can cause visible differences. Use Pantone codes when the primary goal is visual alignment in new applications, not for restoring existing finishes.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
