PMS 7485 C is a Pantone Matching System (PMS) green categorized within the Pantone PMS standard color collection. The color presents a light and clean character, with a notably fresh and understated quality. It is visually associated with calmness and technical precision, and often serves in branding contexts where a clear, modern, and slightly cool accent is desired.

PMS 7485 C appears light in value (LRV: 74.16), allowing it to stand out against both dark and medium backgrounds.

The color exhibits a distinct cool temperature, leaning toward the blue-green spectrum.

This color displays moderate saturation, balancing vibrancy with softness.

PMS 7485 C shows a subtle, cool undertone, giving it a mint-like, slightly pastel appearance.

Finish sensitivity is moderate; higher-gloss finishes may intensify the chromatic quality, while matte can soften the appearance.

PMS 7485 C functions well in branding environments, display fabrication, and marketing installations where a light, fresh green conveys renewal, cleanliness, or approachability. Evaluate color performance in primary lighting conditions since greens in this hue family can be affected by warm or mixed light sources, sometimes shifting their perceived coolness or clarity. Surface selection and finish can influence how crisp or subdued the color appears compared to similar light greens, which may be warmer or more saturated. For accurate brand implementations, application testing on target substrates is recommended.

This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7485 C

How can I keep results consistent when reordering PMS 7485 C paint for a brand display?

To achieve consistent results when reordering PMS 7485 C paint, always use the same product type and sheen as your approved sample or previous order. Matching the finish is important because gloss and matte variants can shift the color's visual impact and acceptance. For repeat projects or additions, confirm all parties use the same Pantone reference and approval process, and evaluate any new material against the original under your intended lighting conditions. If your project is high visibility or brand critical, retain a sample from your approved batch to use as a future reference.

Where can I find the SDS for paint made in PMS 7485 C?

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for paint matched to PMS 7485 C is determined by the type of paint product, not the color code. To locate the SDS, choose the product format you plan to order, such as spray paint or brush-in-cap, and access the SDS library provided with that specific product listing. The color PMS 7485 C does not affect the SDS information requested for safety or compliance purposes.

How does finish choice affect the appearance of PMS 7485 C in branding applications?

The finish or sheen has a noticeable impact on how PMS 7485 C looks in real environments. Glossy finishes will increase the perceived brightness and color intensity, making the green appear slightly more vibrant and crisp. Matte or satin sheens can mute the color, making it look softer and sometimes less saturated. When brand accuracy is important, always review samples in your intended finish and lighting before approval, as small differences in sheen can shift the visual match to your Pantone reference.

What is the typical lead time for ordering custom paint in PMS 7485 C?

PMS 7485 C paint is made to order, so lead time depends on the product format and current production volume. Most custom Pantone PMS paint orders, such as spray paint or other branded formats, require several business days to produce before shipping. Plan ahead for project deadlines and check your product's listing for up-to-date lead time details before placing an order.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 7485 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
