PMS 7418 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, widely relied upon for color consistency in branding, marketing displays, and industrial design. This color presents a rich, muted magenta-red with a distinctly warm undertone, a substantial presence, and a restrained vibrancy. The overall effect is professional, grounded, strong, and visually assertive without being overly saturated or fluorescent.

PMS 7418 C appears moderately dark, supported by an LRV of 18.42. The color exhibits a warm tendency, leaning toward the red and orange side of the spectrum. The saturation level is medium to medium-high, providing strong visual presence without appearing neon or highly chromatic. Undertones of PMS 7418 C are warm and muted, with a subtle earthy base that reduces sharpness. This color may be finish sensitive; glossier finishes will enhance saturation and visual weight, while matte finishes may subdue the richness.

PMS 7418 C works well where visual impact and brand consistency are prioritized, such as signage, marketing backdrops, and product displays. Careful evaluation under intended lighting and finish is essential due to its moderate darkness and warm undertones, which can look deeper or flatter based on context. Surface preparation should account for coverage, as medium-dark saturated colors may require multiple coats for uniform appearance. Compared to similar hues, PMS 7418 C is less vivid and more grounded, providing strong presence without dominance.

Similar colors:
PMS 7421 C – A darker, deeper purple-red with more subdued chroma.

PMS 200 C – A brighter, more chromatic red with cooler undertones.

PMS 202 C – Similar depth, but noticeably cooler and more neutral in hue.

PMS 208 C – Lighter and less saturated, with less warmth and red influence.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7418 C

What should I consider when using PMS 7418 C in a pop-up or retail environment?

When specifying PMS 7418 C for a pop-up or retail experience, evaluate samples in your intended space and lighting before full installation. The visual impact of PMS 7418 C is strongly affected by surface texture, lighting, and finish selection. Plan for surfaces that require durability due to customer traffic or frequent cleaning. Sampling PMS 7418 C on actual materials helps confirm that brand appearance meets expectations under real-world conditions. If your installation is high-visibility or permanent, consider formal sampling and approval processes with your stakeholders.

What is the typical lead time for ordering paint matched to Pantone PMS 7418 C?

Paint matched to PMS 7418 C is made to order. Lead time usually depends on the format you select, such as spray paint versus larger liquid quantities, as well as current production demand. Most orders ship within several business days, but lead time may be longer during busy periods or for large volume requests. For time-sensitive brand activations or events, we recommend ordering early and confirming lead time with customer service if deadlines are critical.

How does finish affect the appearance of Pantone PMS 7418 C in real applications?

PMS 7418 C can look distinctly different depending on the chosen finish. Glossy finishes will make PMS 7418 C appear more saturated, deeper, and visually intense, while matte or flat finishes may subdue the color and make it look slightly lighter or less vibrant. In high-visibility environments, match your finish selection to the intended brand impact and always test samples, since finish and lighting together can shift the perceived color significantly.

What should I know about coverage when painting with Pantone PMS 7418 C?

Because PMS 7418 C is a medium-dark, moderately saturated color, uniform coverage usually requires multiple coats, especially over light or contrasting substrates. For best results, consider using an undercoat that is close in tone to PMS 7418 C or use a gray primer designed to aid coverage of strong colors. Planning for additional coats helps achieve consistent brand color without streaking or variation, which is important for branding and display environments.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7418 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 7418 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 7418 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
