Pantone® PMS 7409 C . Paint And Spray Paint. MyPerfectColor is the official licensee of Pantone and authorized to reproduce the Pantone Matching System colors in spray paint and other paints.

PMS 7409 C from the Pantone PMS system is a vivid, medium yellow with a notably bright and clear appearance. The color carries a lively, energetic, and highly visible vibe, often described as bold, contemporary, and unambiguous in visual communication settings. With a measured LRV of 49.89, it offers significant brightness without being pastel or pale. PMS 7409 C is typical of colors chosen to attract attention, signal optimism, and create a bold messaging layer in both print and physical displays.

PMS 7409 C appears moderate in lightness, providing noticeable brightness without pushing into pale or washed-out territory.

The color demonstrates a distinctly warm tendency, attributable to its yellow base and lack of strong red or orange undertones.

This color exhibits high saturation, resulting in strong visual presence and chromatic clarity.

PMS 7409 C presents yellow undertones without muted or subdued quality, allowing it to read as pure yellow rather than gold or ochre.

The color’s appearance can be sensitive to finish; gloss finishes may make it appear more vibrant, while matte finishes can soften its intensity.

PMS 7409 C is most effective where a bold, unambiguous yellow is required to ensure high visibility or compliance with brand standards. It is commonly called for in point-of-purchase displays, environmental graphics, and accent elements where color accuracy is critical. When specifying or using PMS 7409 C, evaluate color under the installed lighting and finish, as these factors can influence the apparent vibrancy and warmth. Coverage may require multiple coats, especially on darker substrates, due to the inherent hide limitations of highly saturated yellow pigments. For best results, compare samples on the intended surface and finish, and avoid assumptions based on digital previews.

Similar colors:

  • PMS 7408 C: Slightly darker and warmer, with more orange influence and lower brightness.
  • PMS 123 C: Lighter and less saturated, leaning toward a softer, more pastel yellow.
  • PMS 116 C: Brighter and more chromatic, with increased visual intensity and a cooler yellow impression.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7409 C

How can I ensure consistent results when reordering Pantone PMS 7409 C paint for future projects?

To achieve the best consistency with Pantone PMS 7409 C on repeat orders, always specify the same paint type and sheen as you used previously. Variations in product type or finish can produce visible differences, especially with bright, saturated yellows like PMS 7409 C. Use the same reference standard and approval process each time. Evaluate final color under the same lighting conditions you used for your original approval, as both lighting and surface finish can alter the color's appearance.

Where can I find the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for paint made in Pantone PMS 7409 C?

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for Pantone PMS 7409 C paint depends on which specific paint product or format you are selecting (such as spray paint, house paint, or another option). The SDS is linked to the product type, not the PMS color. After choosing your paint type on MyPerfectColor, visit the SDS library for that product to access the correct safety and compliance information.

What should I consider when using Pantone PMS 7409 C for prototypes and concept models?

When prototyping with Pantone PMS 7409 C, first select the paint format that matches your workflow and the typical materials in your concept model. Spray paint is most common for fast, broad coverage, but other options like brush-in-cap bottles or paint pens are available. Highly saturated yellows like PMS 7409 C may require extra coats, especially over dark substrates. Always evaluate samples on your actual model surface and finish, under brand-approved lighting. This helps ensure your prototype accurately reflects brand intent before moving to final production.

How do I order paint matched to Pantone PMS 7409 C on MyPerfectColor?

To order Pantone PMS 7409 C paint, start by selecting your preferred paint type and sheen from the product options on the PMS 7409 C page. Then choose the quantity you need. Review any additional options offered, such as alternate formats or specialty paints, and verify all details before adding to cart. Check your selected options carefully to avoid ordering a variation that may affect color appearance or performance. For brand-critical work, compare approval samples before full production if possible.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7409 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 7409 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 7409 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 7409 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7409 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
