PMS 9123 C (Pantone PMS system) is a light, moderately saturated yellow-green. It projects a fresh, energetic, and contemporary vibe, with a sense of technical clarity and cleanliness. Often perceived as lively and approachable, the color is intended for uses where visual impact and vibrancy are required without overwhelming depth or darkness.

PMS 9123 C is perceived as light in appearance; its relatively high LRV (66.01) supports its brightness. The color displays a neutral-to-cool warmth; the yellow-green character is fresh but not overly warm. This color maintains moderate chroma, yielding a clear but not neon intensity. Undertone is distinctly yellow-green, with subtle hints of lime and minimal grayness. PMS 9123 C’s appearance can vary with finish; matte surfaces may reduce vibrancy, while gloss enhances its clean, saturated look.

PMS 9123 C functions well in environments requiring visual attention and a sense of modernity. It is most effective under consistent, well-considered lighting to prevent unintended drabness or excessive glare. For highest color fidelity, evaluate both the substrate and intended finish before final specification, as yellow-green tones may shift under different lighting types (e.g., fluorescent vs. natural daylight). In comparison to similar light greens, PMS 9123 C maintains a brighter, moderately saturated feel without tipping into pastel or neon territory.

Similar colors:
PMS 372 C is lighter and less saturated, presenting a subtler, more pastel effect.

PMS 2295 C is darker and more saturated, offering a deeper, more pronounced green.

PMS 375 C is similar in vibrancy but skewed slightly warmer and more intense in chroma.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 9123 C

What coverage and hide considerations should I expect when using PMS 9123 C paint?

PMS 9123 C is a light, moderately saturated yellow-green, and like most bright and vivid Pantone colors, it may require more coats compared to darker or more opaque colors. If the substrate is dark or uneven, or if you are painting over a contrasting color, plan for additional coats to achieve uniform appearance and accurate brand presentation. Using a primer or a white base coat can help improve coverage and color vibrancy for PMS 9123 C. Always test on a sample area first to confirm that hide and visual impact meet your project needs.

What should I consider when applying PMS 9123 C paint to metal or powder-coated parts?

When painting metal or powder-coated surfaces with PMS 9123 C, surface preparation is critical for both appearance and adhesion. The substrate must be clean and free of oils, dust, and debris, and glossy surfaces should be lightly scuffed to promote bonding. Keep in mind that existing coatings and gloss level of the substrate can affect the final appearance of PMS 9123 C, sometimes causing color or sheen shifts. It is strongly recommended to create a sample first to assess appearance before committing to a full project, especially when accurate brand representation is important.

Are there safety or VOC considerations when using paint matched to PMS 9123 C?

Safety and VOC content for PMS 9123 C paint depend on the specific product type and format you select. Always review the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for your chosen paint to understand ventilation, handling, and protective equipment requirements. Follow all safe use practices for storage, application, and disposal. If low VOC or special safety needs are important for your project, verify product details before ordering. Proper safety ensures a smooth workflow and preserves intended color results.

How does shipping and transit time affect orders for PMS 9123 C matched paint?

Transit time for PMS 9123 C paint orders depends on your location, your selected shipping method, and any carrier limitations for paint products. Weather or carrier delays can also impact delivery schedules, especially for expedited or time-sensitive branding projects. Plan your order with enough lead time before deadlines to ensure you receive the paint when needed. If your project has a firm installation or launch date, consider reaching out early about available shipping options and estimated transit times before placing your order.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 9123 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 9123 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 9123 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
