PMS 9222 C is a Pantone Matching System color commonly specified in brand and marketing contexts that call for a restrained, fresh green impression. It conveys a calm, approachable, and modern vibe with subtle warmth and low visual intensity.
The color appears light in value, with a high light reflectance that keeps it visually open. It leans warm in the yellow-green range and remains low to moderately saturated, reading as muted rather than vivid.
PMS 9222 C works well in brand-facing displays, exhibit elements, and large surface areas where a light green tone should feel controlled and non-dominant. Because of its lightness, careful surface preparation and priming can help achieve an even appearance under varied lighting conditions.
Similar colors:
PMS 9211 C: slightly lighter and more neutral, with less yellow influence.
PMS 9223 C: darker and marginally richer, with more visual weight.
PMS 7494 C: warmer and more yellow-forward, with higher perceived brightness.

The finish you choose for Pantone PMS 9222 C can strongly impact its perceived color and brightness. Gloss finishes tend to make colors appear more vibrant and saturated, while matte finishes can diffuse light, reducing the visual intensity and making the color seem softer or lighter. Satin is typically a balanced option and may be closest to what you see in Pantone fan decks. When brand consistency is critical, always confirm your preferred finish with stakeholders and, if possible, view a sample of PMS 9222 C in the actual finish and environment before final production.
Different plastics vary widely in terms of how well paint adheres. Pantone PMS 9222 C can be matched in various paint formats, but achieving consistent results on plastics may require a primer or surface treatment designed for that material. For best results, test PMS 9222 C on your actual plastic component before full production, and consult about primer compatibility when ordering. Skipping adhesion steps can lead to problems like flaking or uneven color.
Pantone PMS 9222 C is a standardized, vivid color, and like many saturated hues, it may need multiple coats for even, opaque coverage, especially over dark or uneven surfaces. Using a recommended white or neutral undercoat can help PMS 9222 C reach its intended color and coverage with fewer coats. Planning your project with this in mind helps ensure uniform, brand-accurate results and avoids surprises during installation or fabrication.
The durability of Pantone PMS 9222 C in spray paint depends on proper surface prep, paint type, and whether a clear topcoat is used. For temporary displays or controlled interior environments, standard application may be sufficient. For installations subject to handling or outdoor exposure, selecting the right paint type and topcoat boosts performance and color retention. Always communicate your project requirements to ensure PMS 9222 C is matched in the appropriate formula for your brand and environmental needs.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 9222 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
