PMS 8660 C is a Pantone PMS metallic color specified for brand and display applications that require a darker green tone with reflective depth. It communicates a restrained, industrial character with a technical visual presence rather than high brightness.
The color appears dark overall, with an LRV of 19.27, and reads as a warm-leaning green influenced by yellow undertones. Its moderate to high chroma maintains color clarity while the metallic finish introduces sensitivity to lighting angle, surface texture, and application consistency.
PMS 8660 C performs well on dimensional branding elements, fabricated parts, and exhibit components where metallic depth adds visual structure. Careful surface preparation and even film build can help reduce mottling or uneven reflectance, as changes in sheen, substrate smoothness, and lighting can significantly affect appearance.

Pantone 5535 C: darker and more neutral, with reduced green warmth.

Pantone PMS 8660 C is part of the Pantone Metallics palette, which is often used by brands and organizations seeking a metallic gold effect for logos, displays, or branded environments. While there is no publicly documented major brand ownership attached to PMS 8660 C, this color is frequently selected for high-impact signage, marketing materials, and displays where a metallic gold tone is specified for visual consistency. If you are matching a brand standard, always confirm that PMS 8660 C is the specified code in your brand guidelines before ordering.
When working with Pantone PMS 8660 C in a brand approval process, it is best practice to order a small paint sample or spray-out first. Evaluate the color on the actual substrate you plan to use, and review it under the installed lighting conditions. Confirm that the result meets your brand's expectations for color and appearance before committing to your full order. This step helps avoid costly mismatches or application issues on larger projects.
When you order Pantone PMS 8660 C paint, you are requesting a paint product matched to the standardized visual color target defined by Pantone for PMS 8660 C. This target helps ensure consistent reproduction across different materials, but it does not specify a proprietary paint formula, manufacturing process, or finish type. Always verify finish and substrate requirements for your application, as these can affect how the color is perceived.
Pantone PMS 8660 C is a metallic color, so achieving a uniform look over large surfaces requires careful application technique. Apply multiple thin coats rather than one heavy coat to avoid uneven coverage and visible streaks. It is important to maintain a consistent spray or paint direction and overlap edges methodically. Plan your work so all areas are painted in similar conditions for the best color consistency, and be aware that metallic finishes can highlight application differences more than standard paints.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 8660 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
