PMS 8006 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (PMS) Metallics collection, used in professional color specification for print, branding, and fabricated displays. The color presents a bold, metallic yellow-green with an energetic, modern, and striking character. Its appearance conveys vibrancy, technical appeal, and a reflective quality typical of metallic finishes.

PMS 8006 C appears moderately dark; its LRV is 17.59, indicating notably low light reflectance. The color exhibits a distinctly warm, yellow-green undertone. PMS 8006 C displays a saturated chromatic intensity, with pronounced colorfulness enhanced by its metallic nature. The undertone is bright and lively, shifting slightly depending on lighting conditions. Finish is highly sensitive; metallic dispersion affects perceived color uniformity and depth, especially under directional or uneven lighting.

PMS 8006 C is frequently specified in specialty printed graphics where a metallic, attention-grabbing lime yellow-green is required. This color is commonly used for accent elements on packaging or promotional materials to create visual differentiation.

PMS 8006 C works well when a dynamic, metallic green-yellow accent is needed for brand-forward applications. The metallic finish can appear different depending on substrate, paint technology, and angle of illumination—evaluate samples in situ, in the intended lighting environment. This color should be applied to smooth, well-prepared surfaces to minimize visible surface defects and maximize reflectivity. As a saturated metallic, coverage may require multiple coats and careful technique to achieve even dispersion. Relative to similar colors, PMS 8006 C has greater chromaticity and a more pronounced metallic effect, influencing its perceived vibrancy under different viewing conditions.

This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

PMS 802 C: More chromatic, less muted; does not have a metallic finish.

PMS 3975 C: Darker, more olive, and less saturated, with a more muted and earthy appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 8006 C

How do I confirm I am ordering the correct PMS 8006 C color code for my brand project?

Before ordering paint for PMS 8006 C, review your brand standards or project documentation to confirm the full Pantone code including any suffixes, such as the 'C' for coated. Pantone codes may have variations based on finish or substrate, and using the wrong series or suffix could result in mismatched color. Always match the code exactly as specified by your brand guidelines or design files.

Where can I find the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for paint made in PMS 8006 C?

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for PMS 8006 C paint is determined by the type of paint or product you are using, not the color itself. To access the SDS, go to the SDS library on the product page for your selected paint type, such as spray paint or acrylic. Choose your product format and download the appropriate SDS before using or handling the paint.

What does it mean to order a PMS 8006 C paint match?

Ordering a PMS 8006 C paint match means you are requesting paint matched visually to the Pantone Matching System color standard. Pantone PMS 8006 C specifies a visual color target, not a formula or specific material. Paint matched to this reference is produced to resemble the intended color, but appearance can vary due to differences in substrate, finish, or paint technology. Always verify expectations with a physical Pantone reference and a sample where color-critical results are needed.

When should I order a sample of PMS 8006 C before full-scale production?

It is recommended to order a sample of PMS 8006 C when your project involves brand-facing displays, large installations, or visual elements where lighting and substrate may affect how the metallic yellow-green appears. Sampling is especially important for formal brand approvals, complex surfaces, or high-visibility areas where accurate color representation is critical. This helps confirm final appearance in your actual environment before you commit to a full order.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 8006 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 8006 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 8006 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

Most people don't use a primer for a touch up paint application, but a primer may improve adhesion and is typically recommended for exterior applications.
How do I convert PMS 8006 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 8006 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
