PMS 706 C

PMS 706 C is a Pantone PMS color recognized for its very light, translucent pink appearance. As part of the Pantone Matching System, this color is widely specified for projects requiring color consistency across media and fabrication types. The vibe is clean, gentle, soft, contemporary, and non-intrusive, supporting environments where subtlety and clarity are required.

PMS 706 C is a very light color, with a relatively high light reflectance value (LRV 66.01). The color presents a cool to neutral pink tone. The saturation is low; the pink reads as delicate rather than vivid. Undertones are subtle, with a red or pink direction, but minimal intensity. Finish sensitivity can be moderate; glossier finishes slightly increase the perceived vibrancy, while matte finishes emphasize its subtlety.

PMS 706 C works well for communicating softness, clarity, or delicate differentiation in brand environments, marketing collateral, and display fabrication where a gentle pink is needed without overpowering surrounding elements. It is important to evaluate PMS 706 C in the specific finish and lighting intended, as perceived warmth and depth may shift, especially in environments with strong or colored lighting. Compared to other pale pinks, PMS 706 C maintains a relatively cool, receding presence, less likely to read as noticeably warm or beige in appearance.

Similar colors:
PMS 705 C – Slightly lighter and closer to a near-white pink, appearing more washed out.

PMS 203 C – Distinctly deeper and more chromatic, offering a stronger pink presence.

PMS 670 C – Warmer and slightly more saturated, with a noticeable lavender undertone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 706 C

How can I maintain color consistency when reordering Pantone PMS 706 C paint for future projects?

To keep Pantone PMS 706 C looking consistent across multiple orders, always specify the exact same paint type and sheen as your original order. Use the same Pantone reference, and if you used a specific sample or approval standard, continue using it as the match target. Variations in product format, finish, or approval reference can change the appearance or acceptance of PMS 706 C, so keeping these factors aligned is key for brand consistency.

What should I do if I need help choosing the best paint type for Pantone PMS 706 C?

If you are unsure which paint type is most suitable for Pantone PMS 706 C, contact MyPerfectColor with details about your surface, environment, and finish preferences. Mention the substrate, whether it will be indoors or outdoors, and the required sheen or durability. This information will help identify the right product for your brand or display application and ensure good results when matching PMS 706 C.

What is the correct way to specify Pantone PMS 706 C when ordering paint?

Always use the full Pantone code, PMS 706 C, when ordering this color. The code uniquely identifies your color target and ensures the product matches your brand requirements. Do not rely only on a color name or a partial code, as Pantone numbers and suffixes such as 'C' (Coated) are needed to avoid ordering the wrong color or finish variant.

What should I consider when applying Pantone PMS 706 C paint to plastic or low energy surfaces?

Plastics and similar low energy materials may need special primers to achieve strong adhesion with Pantone PMS 706 C paint. Since not all plastics behave the same, it is important to test your selected paint on a sample of the actual plastic before full production. This helps confirm both color appearance and bonding. Consult MyPerfectColor for recommendations on primers or adhesion steps suitable for your specific material.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 706 C?

Can I use the Pantone PMS 706 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
