PMS 671 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, serving as a dependable reference for brand and design applications. The color presents a light, cool, soft, and understated purple character, often perceived as gentle and clean. Its moderate saturation avoids boldness, making it a practical option for environments where subtle color cues are preferred.

PMS 671 C appears light in value, supported by an LRV of 60.3. The color demonstrates a cool tendency, leaning distinctly toward purple with a subtle blue undertone. PMS 671 C maintains a moderate level of saturation, avoiding the vividness typical of more chromatic purples. The color is softly muted rather than bright, adding a gentle effect to surfaces. PMS 671 C is generally not highly sensitive to finish, but glossier sheens may increase the perception of brightness and saturation.

PMS 671 C is specified when a light, muted purple is needed to subtly reinforce brand identity or create soft, approachable environments. This color works well for display components, brand experiences, or environments where a gentle accent is preferable to highly saturated or dramatic hues. When specifying PMS 671 C, consider lighting impact—cool daylight will keep it crisp, while warm or low light may dull its appearance. The lightness aids in coverage but can also reveal surface irregularities more readily than darker colors, so careful surface preparation is recommended. Compared to other purple shades in the PMS system, this option avoids both the excessive chroma of vivid violets and the neutrality of most grays.

Similar colors:
PMS 270 C: Cooler and lighter, with a more subdued blue cast.

PMS 7443 C: Lighter and more neutral, appearing almost lavender-gray.

PMS 666 C: Darker and slightly warmer, introducing more apparent magenta undertones.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 671 C

How should I specify PMS 671 C when ordering to ensure I receive the correct Pantone color?

When ordering PMS 671 C, always use the full Pantone code, including the number and suffix (such as 'C' for coated). Pantone color names and codes must match exactly because similar numbers can refer to different colors or finishes. For consistent results across vendors and materials, provide the precise code: Pantone PMS 671 C. Avoid using only the name or omitting the suffix, since this can lead to receiving the wrong shade or product type.

What should I consider about coverage and undercoats when using PMS 671 C paint?

PMS 671 C is a light, muted purple. Lighter and less saturated colors often cover more easily, but depending on your substrate or previous color, you may still need multiple coats for uniform results. Using a white or similarly light-toned undercoat can help achieve clean, even coverage and prevent the underlying surface from affecting the color. Plan for at least two coats for visual consistency, especially on non-white substrates or surfaces with stains or patchwork.

Is PMS 671 C suitable for touch-up on existing painted or coated surfaces?

PMS 671 C is not intended for touch-up or repair of existing coatings. Pantone specifications define a color target but do not account for differences in gloss, texture, aging, or substrate. Even if the code matches, the result may not align with the original finish. For ongoing projects, use PMS 671 C only as the primary reference for new applications, not as a proxy for maintaining or repairing prior work.

When should I sample PMS 671 C before placing a large or critical order?

Sampling PMS 671 C is recommended for projects where brand color accuracy and appearance are critical, such as high-visibility displays or brand environments. This is especially important for large installations, multiple substrates, or when final lighting conditions differ from your initial review. Sampling allows you to confirm that PMS 671 C meets brand expectations and performs as needed before full production.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 671 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 671 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 671 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
