PMS 616 C from the Pantone PMS collection is a light, subdued yellow-green with a soft and muted appearance. This color gives a reserved and balanced vibe—descriptors include understated, natural, fresh, and technical. Its lightness and low visual aggressiveness make it suitable for subtle branding elements where a gentle, non-intrusive presence is desired. The Pantone PMS system ensures this color can be accurately specified and reproduced across various materials in professional and marketing contexts.

PMS 616 C appears as a light color (LRV 64.07), offering significant brightness without being stark.

The color has a warm, yellow-green tendency, conveying a natural and organic look.

PMS 616 C is low in chromatic intensity, resulting in a restrained and subdued visual presence.

The undertone is earthy and yellowed, without strong blue or red influence.

This color generally reads consistently, but its muted quality may be affected by gloss or lighting, potentially shifting toward more green or yellow depending on context.

PMS 616 C works well in applications requiring a gentle, unobtrusive green-yellow that harmonizes with other muted or naturalistic tones. It is a good choice when an accent is needed without strong saturation or contrast. Users should evaluate it under the intended lighting and finish to confirm its appearance, as subtle greens and yellows can shift with changing conditions. Compared to other colors in its range, PMS 616 C is less saturated and lighter, so it will typically appear more reserved and less likely to dominate a palette.

This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 616 C

What factors affect the durability of Pantone PMS 616 C spray paint in branding and display projects?

The durability of PMS 616 C spray paint depends on several factors: substrate preparation, choice of primer, topcoat options, and the environment where the paint will be used. For best results, surfaces should be clean, dry, and properly primed. Selection of a protective or clear topcoat is important if the painted surface will be handled frequently or exposed to sunlight, moisture, or abrasion. Always confirm that the type of spray paint and any topcoats are appropriate for the intended use conditions and exposure. If the application is subject to high wear or outdoor use, choose higher durability paint or coatings, and consult product specifications before ordering.

How can I achieve a uniform appearance with Pantone PMS 616 C when painting large areas?

To get a consistent look with PMS 616 C over large surfaces, use the same paint lot for the entire area and plan your application to avoid overlapping dry edges. Apply multiple thin coats as needed to ensure even coverage, especially since lighter and muted colors may show substrate differences more easily. Maintain a steady spray distance and pattern, and work in sections that allow you to keep a wet edge. Evaluate the painted surface under your typical lighting to confirm color uniformity before the final coat dries.

What should I consider when using Pantone PMS 616 C for prototypes or concept models?

PMS 616 C is often used in prototyping and concept models to align visuals with brand standards. For accurate evaluation, select a product format that best matches your prototype material and handling needs, such as spray paint for smooth, even finishes. After application, assess the color in the intended lighting and finish, comparing it to a physical Pantone reference if possible. This approach helps confirm that your model reflects the intended brand color outcome before full production.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 616 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 616 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
