Pantone™ PMS 603 C

The appearance of PMS 603 C can noticeably change with different gloss levels. Higher-gloss finishes will make this bright yellow appear more vibrant and intense, while matte finishes will subdue the brightness and can even make the color look softer or cooler. Even when the color formula is identical, a matte surface and a gloss sample can appear like different colors, especially under varied lighting. For brand consistency, choose a sheen that matches your intended reference or standard, and always compare finishes under your actual lighting conditions.

When using PMS 603 C for displays, signage, or branded elements, select an interior paint if the project will be indoors and not exposed to harsh weather or UV light. For any outdoor applications, choose an exterior paint type to ensure proper durability and color retention. The intended exposure is the key factor. Always verify the format and application guidance when placing your order to ensure you get the most suitable product for your space.

The C in PMS 603 C is part of the Pantone code that specifies a certain series or standard, often referring to the color as shown on coated paper. It is important to order using the exact Pantone code from your brand standards or documentation. Make sure you request PMS 603 C if that is your intended target, as similar codes without the suffix or with a different suffix (such as U for uncoated) can represent different color references, leading to mismatched results.

PMS 603 C paint is matched to the Pantone color standard and is designed for brand, display, and marketing use where the Pantone reference is the primary target. For touch-up or repair of an existing finish, especially if exact appearance is required, the best approach is to send a physical part for custom matching. This ensures the new coating aligns with the aged or specific finish of your item, as using a PMS formula alone may not provide a visually correct repair on surfaces exposed to wear or environmental effects.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 603 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
