Pantone™ PMS 602 C

PMS 602 C is widely specified for high-visibility branding and display applications due to its vivid yellow color and clarity. While usage can vary over time and by campaign, PMS 602 C is selected when a clean, energetic yellow is needed for maximum brand recognition. It is common in branded environments, display fabrication, and visual identity materials that require precise reproduction of Pantone-standard colors.

PMS 602 C is a light, highly saturated yellow, which means it can require more coats for full uniformity, especially on dark or uneven surfaces. For best results, apply PMS 602 C over a white or very light primer, plan for adequate product volume, and use consistent application techniques. Check coverage between coats and allow proper drying time. Always evaluate results in the intended lighting conditions to ensure color consistency and visual impact.

PMS 602 C is often chosen for prototypes or concept models that require accurate representation of a brand's visual identity. Using the exact Pantone PMS code in early stages helps ensure alignment with brand standards before full production. It is available in formats like spray paint and paint pens for quick application on model substrates, providing a close visual match for internal evaluations and presentations.

PMS 602 C in standard paint formats is intended for consistent brand color reproduction on new displays, signage, and components. It is not recommended for touch-up or repair of existing finishes, as slight color differences can occur across materials and conditions. If a true touch-up grade match is required, the best practice is to send a physical part for custom matching to account for substrate, finish, and aging effects.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
