Pantone™ PMS 5777 C

Pantone PMS 5777 C should not be used as a touch-up specification because Pantone references only define color targets and do not specify sheen, substrate, or existing finish conditions. Using PMS 5777 C for touch-up could result in visible differences, as the original finish may have changed with age, environmental exposure, or production variables. Specifying PMS 5777 C is appropriate for new, brand-focused applications, but not for matching or blending into existing coatings.

Ordering paint matched to Pantone PMS 5777 C is appropriate when your goal is to achieve consistent color results for branded displays, signage, prototype models, or marketing installations. If your project requires the visual impact or accuracy of the Pantone reference itself and will be viewed in environments where new, uniform color is important, a standard PMS 5777 C match is the right choice. For critical, multi-material, or high-visibility applications, consider previewing a sample first to confirm appearance on the intended surface and under actual lighting conditions.

The Pantone reference PMS 5777 C includes the suffix 'C' to specify a certain finish or substrate. Pantone colors can have different suffixes, such as 'C' for coated or 'U' for uncoated, and these may look different in practice. Always refer to your brand standards or project documentation to make sure you are specifying the correct version of PMS 5777 C, as ordering the wrong suffix could result in a noticeable color or finish mismatch in your application.

Sheen strongly affects how Pantone PMS 5777 C will appear on your finished surface. Higher gloss finishes can make the color look deeper and more reflective, while matte finishes provide a flatter and potentially lighter appearance. Consider the viewing distance, substrate material, and desired visual impact. For displays and signage viewed from a distance, a semi-gloss may provide visibility and durability. Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
