PMS 5757 C is a standardized color from the Pantone Matching System, frequently specified for visual consistency in brand-marketing and industrial design contexts. It presents as a subdued olive green with notably low reflectivity and a muted, organic character. The vibe is grounded, stable, natural, technical, and understated.

PMS 5757 C presents as a medium-dark color with an LRV of 16.02. The color leans cool within the spectrum of greens, due in part to its yellow-green hue angle and subtle earthy bias. PMS 5757 C shows moderate chroma, resulting in a less saturated and more naturalistic appearance compared to vivid greens. The undertone of PMS 5757 C is strongly olive, with a hint of yellow that is softened by a muted, slightly gray cast. This color can appear deeper or more drab in matte finishes, while higher-gloss finishes may increase perceived richness.

PMS 5757 C works well where a discreet but clearly branded olive green is needed—particularly on environmental graphics, fixtures, or displays aiming for a natural or technical tone. Evaluate in situ under expected lighting, as deeper greens may look cooler and darker under cool or low light. When compared to other olive greens, PMS 5757 C tends to look more muted and less yellow. Coverage and uniformity may require additional coats, especially on light or highly textured substrates.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 5757 C

How is Pantone PMS 5757 C typically used for sign, display, and exhibit fabrication projects?

Pantone PMS 5757 C is often specified by brand standards for fabricated signs, display elements, and exhibits to ensure consistent visual identity across multiple locations and materials. When PMS 5757 C is the project target, color approval is typically based on matching the Pantone standard visually. For best results, sample the actual paint on your production substrate and under your intended lighting before making a full order. This approach helps check for substrate or lighting effects that may change the final appearance.

What should I consider when using Pantone PMS 5757 C matched paint on plastics or low energy materials?

Plastics and other low energy surfaces vary widely in how well they accept paint. When applying a Pantone PMS 5757 C match to plastic, you may need to use a specialty primer or surface preparation process to ensure good adhesion. Always test the chosen paint and primer combination on a sample of your actual plastic before committing to full production, since results can differ by plastic type and finish. This helps confirm both color appearance and durability.

How can I achieve consistent results when reordering Pantone PMS 5757 C paint for future projects?

To keep results consistent when you reorder Pantone PMS 5757 C, stay with the same product type, sheen, and application method as your original order. Use the same Pantone reference or approval target for each run. Even small changes in gloss, finish, or substrate can cause visible differences. Document your approval process and always evaluate a sample before full-scale use, especially if project standards or approval workflows require precise matching.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 5757 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
