PMS 563 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, designed to provide standardized color targets for branding, fabrications, and environments. The color is visually clean, technical, subdued, contemporary, and calming. It serves as a mid-value aqua with a restrained yet noticeable chromaticity that maintains clarity without being overpowering.

PMS 563 C appears moderately light, with a light reflectance value (LRV) of 40.75. The color shows a distinctly cool visual tendency. PMS 563 C demonstrates moderate saturation, consistent with its role in supporting clear brand communication without visual harshness. The undertone is a blend of blue and green, producing a gentle aqua impression with a subtle blue lean. The color’s appearance is moderately sensitive to finish, with gloss or matte surfaces influencing its perceived vibrancy and coolness.

PMS 563 C is operationally effective in scenarios where a cool, calming, and contemporary cyan-green is required. It is well-suited for branded environments, display graphics, and fixtures where visual consistency is a priority. Under varying lighting conditions, the color may shift in perceived temperature, taking on more blue or green notes. To ensure accurate color communication, always evaluate samples in the intended lighting and finish. Compared to similar colors, PMS 563 C holds its hue clearly without drifting into overtly mint or teal directions, providing a reliable mid-range cool tone for branding.

Similar colors:
PMS 564 C: Lighter and less saturated, resulting in a more pastel, less pronounced appearance.

PMS 565 C: Even lighter and closer to an off-white, with less blue-green chroma.

PMS 559 C: Slightly more neutral and muted, reducing the crisp blue-green character of PMS 563 C.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 563 C

What does it mean to order paint matched to Pantone PMS 563 C?

Ordering paint matched to Pantone PMS 563 C means you are requesting a product formulated to visually align with the Pantone PMS 563 C color reference. Pantone PMS 563 C defines a precise color target for brand consistency, but it does not specify the coating formula, manufacturing process, or finish. The match is based on appearance, not an official Pantone formula, so color will be visually controlled to the standard but may shift slightly depending on material, finish, and lighting. Always review samples if your project has strict requirements.

What product formats are available for Pantone PMS 563 C, and how do I choose the right one?

Pantone PMS 563 C is available in custom spray paint and other formats such as paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, epoxy, urethane, and interior or exterior housepaint. Spray paint is useful for larger branded displays and fixtures, while paint pens and brush-in-cap bottles support detail work or prototyping. For durable applications or industry-specific needs, epoxy and urethane may be appropriate. Consider your project's surface, scale, and required durability to decide which format is right. If you are unsure how a finish will look, sampling is recommended before committing to production quantities.

When should I order a sample of Pantone PMS 563 C before full production?

Sampling Pantone PMS 563 C is recommended for high-visibility brand projects, large-scale installations, or whenever color must be approved under specific lighting and finish conditions. Sampling helps confirm that the matched color meets your expectations on the actual substrate and with your selected sheen. This step is especially important because finish and lighting can affect how PMS 563 C is perceived, and slight differences may impact brand consistency for critical environments or permanent installations.

Is Pantone PMS 563 C known to be used by any noteworthy brands or major institutions?

Pantone PMS 563 C is a standardized color reference within the Pantone Matching System collection. It is designed to support branding, displays, and environments that require a sophisticated cyan-green. While it is well suited for projects needing a calm, contemporary character, there are no major brand or institutional usages for PMS 563 C documented on this page. For your project, always confirm final color alignment and acceptability with brand standards where relevant.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 563 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
