PMS 5275 C is a member of the Pantone Matching System (PMS) collection, specifically designed for consistent color specification in branding, display, and industrial design contexts. The color conveys a restrained, technical, and subdued vibe with a muted violet character. It is structurally significant for projects requiring reliable reproduction of sophisticated purples without overpowering saturation.
PMS 5275 C displays a dark appearance, with a low light reflectance value (LRV 9.54). The color shows a cool overall tendency, with violet-blue undertones. It is moderately low in chroma, resulting in a muted, understated effect rather than vivid saturation. The color contains grayish undertones, softening its violet presentation. PMS 5275 C is sensitive to finish: a matte finish can further enhance its muted character, while a gloss finish may subtly intensify perceived depth.
PMS 5275 C functions well in applications where a sophisticated or subdued brand presence is preferred, such as background fields, secondary identity elements, or in environments requiring reduced visual distraction. Owing to its dark value and muted undertone, it may require careful lighting consideration to avoid appearing nearly black in dim settings. When matching PMS 5275 C, always compare both physical Pantone references and painted samples in project-specific lighting and finish. On porous or highly absorbent surfaces, additional coats may be needed to achieve sufficient color depth and uniformity.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

PMS 5275 C is standardized by the Pantone Matching System, but appearance can vary depending on the underlying material and finish selected. MyPerfectColor uses advanced matching processes to reproduce PMS 5275 C as accurately as possible in your chosen paint format. However, factors like sheen, surface texture, and lighting can influence the perceived color. For critical brand work, always compare your painted sample to a physical Pantone reference under the intended lighting conditions to ensure visual alignment before finalizing production.
To achieve optimal color consistency with PMS 5275 C, start by ensuring the surface is clean, dry, and free of oils or debris. For glossy or hard surfaces, a light scuff sanding improves paint adhesion. Use a degreaser or appropriate cleaner to remove any contaminants, then allow the surface to dry fully. It is recommended to test a small, inconspicuous area with your selected paint and finish before full application, especially on porous or absorbent materials that may affect the final appearance or coverage.
PMS 5275 C is often specified for prototypes and concept models to visually represent brand standards in early development stages. Selecting the right paint format, such as spray paint for broad coverage or paint pens for detail, supports accurate brand color evaluation. For effective review, always compare the prototype to a Pantone reference under project lighting, and consider finish choices, as PMS 5275 C appears darker and more muted in matte formulations. This approach helps teams make informed decisions about brand presentation before full production.
If you need help choosing the right paint type for matching PMS 5275 C, contact MyPerfectColor with details about your substrate, desired finish, and where the painted item will be used. Their team can recommend suitable options from spray paint to paint pens and other custom paint formats to help you achieve accurate brand results for your specific application.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 5275 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
