When specifying Pantone PMS 516 C, always double-check your brand standards or reference documentation to confirm the exact code, including any series or suffix (such as C, U, or M). Different Pantone suffixes can refer to different substrates or finishes. Using the precise code ensures the most accurate color match for branded displays, signage, or environments.

For best results with Pantone PMS 516 C spray paint, apply several thin, even coats rather than one heavy coat. Allow sufficient drying or flash time between each layer to support smooth coverage and accurate color appearance. This method helps prevent runs and promotes the best possible brand color consistency on your display or prototype components.

Pantone PMS 516 C is often used on prototypes and concept models to represent approved brand colors. Select a paint format that matches the intended evaluation use, such as spray paint for overall color or paint pens for detailing. Plastics and other low surface energy materials can have adhesion challenges with any paint, including Pantone PMS 516 C. Results may depend on the specific type of plastic. Priming or specialized adhesion promoters could be necessary. It is best to test the paint on your actual plastic substrate before moving to full-scale production to assess compatibility and coverage.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
