PMS 4745 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, widely used for brand, marketing, and display fabrication where consistent color specification is critical. This color presents a muted, light tan appearance with a soft, natural vibe. Its character is restrained, earthy, and low-key, providing subtle warmth without drawing attention. PMS 4745 C is often selected for designs seeking to balance approachability, neutrality, and a hint of organic influence, supporting both wayfinding and understated brand expressions.
PMS 4745 C has a light to mid-light appearance, with numeric LRV of 54.93 indicating moderate reflectance. The color exhibits a warm tendency, informed by a hue angle of approximately 45. PMS 4745 C shows low to moderate saturation, resulting in a subtle chromatic presence rather than vividness. The undertone leans toward a beige-tan, with a gentle earthiness that avoids pink or yellow overtones. Finish sensitivity is moderate; darker sheens may enhance its neutrality, while matte finishes retain its muted softness.
PMS 4745 C works well in contexts that require understated warmth and approachability, such as displays, branded environments, and fixtures where neutrality is needed but pure grays or whites are too cold. Consistency in lighting is critical; the color can appear cooler or flatter under certain artificial lights. Surface preparation should ensure a smooth, uniform base, as the subtle tone may reveal flaws more readily than deeper or more saturated hues. When compared to similar muted tan shades, PMS 4745 C remains relatively neutral and avoids overt yellow or peach warmth, making it versatile in a range of branded settings.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

PMS 4745 C is a light tan with moderate saturation, so it generally covers more easily than highly saturated or vivid Pantone colors. However, the subtle tone may still be sensitive to base color and surface prep. For best results, start with a smooth, primed surface in a similar light neutral tone. Applying PMS 4745 C over dark or uneven bases may require additional coats to achieve a uniform appearance. Always allow adequate dry time between coats to evaluate coverage and visual consistency under your intended lighting conditions.
The SDS for Pantone PMS 4745 C paint is determined by the type of product and base formula, not the Pantone color code itself. To find the correct SDS, select the paint format and product type you plan to use (such as spray paint, paint pen, or housepaint) and consult the Safety Data Sheet library on the MyPerfectColor website. Reference PMS 4745 C for color and choose the SDS for the specific base or system you are ordering.
PMS 4745 C, like other Pantone PMS colors, may look different depending on the material or substrate used. Factors such as surface texture, absorption, sheen, and reflectivity all impact the final appearance. A color sample on metal may look warmer or glossier than the same formula on plastic or wood. For brand-critical projects, always evaluate PMS 4745 C on the actual materials and finishes you will use in your project, under your intended site lighting. This helps ensure brand consistency and alignment with Pantone color targets.
Painting plastics or low-energy surfaces with Pantone PMS 4745 C requires careful surface preparation for good adhesion. Plastics such as polypropylene or polyethylene often need specialty primers or adhesion promoters. Always test PMS 4745 C paint on a sample of your actual plastic component before full production to confirm bonding, finish quality, and color appearance. This helps reduce the risk of peeling, uneven coverage, or inconsistent color in your finished display or branded installation.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 4745 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
