PMS 3995 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, which serves as an industry-standard color reference. Visually, the color projects a subdued, technical, and utilitarian vibe. It features a low to moderate visual impact, leaning heavily on an earthy, functional presence rather than decorative brightness. The appearance is practical, slightly industrial, and delivers a distinctly yellow-green character that can anchor visual communication in specialized settings.

PMS 3995 C appears distinctly dark for a yellow-green, with an LRV (Light Reflectance Value) of 10.66.

The color trends slightly warm, owing to its prominent yellow component within the green spectrum.

The color demonstrates moderate to high chromatic intensity (saturation), yet the value is tempered by its darkness.

PMS 3995 C shows strong yellow-green undertones, with a muted, chartreuse-like quality that distinguishes it from standard greens or yellows.

The color is sensitive to gloss and finish; higher sheens can increase the perceived vibrancy and visibility of yellow-green overtones.

PMS 3995 C is often used in brand environments where a controlled, industrial shade is needed to communicate functionality or draw attention in a non-primary way. The low LRV means this color may recede under low lighting or appear notably darker when applied on large surfaces. For accurate brand matches, always evaluate the color under final lighting and finish conditions, as stronger glosses accentuate chroma. Relative to other yellow-greens, PMS 3995 C is both darker and less vivid, minimizing glare and visual fatigue in expansive displays or signage.

Similar colors:

  • PMS 390 C: Lighter and somewhat brighter, with a more evident yellow hue and greater vibrancy.
  • PMS 397 C: Warmer and softer, presenting a more olive-toned variant with less green influence.
  • PMS 448 C: Darker and substantially more neutral, appearing more brownish and less chromatic than PMS 3995 C.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 3995 C

What should I consider when using PMS 3995 C in a pop-up or retail environment?

When specifying PMS 3995 C for pop-ups or retail installations, consider durability, lighting, and sampling. This color has a low LRV of 10.66, which means it may appear darker under typical indoor lighting or on large surfaces. Evaluate PMS 3995 C samples under your installed lighting and in the intended finish to confirm appearance before full deployment. Choosing an appropriate paint system and surface preparation can help meet brand standards for visual consistency and wear resistance. Sampling is especially important for expansive or high-visibility brand spaces.

How does sheen affect the appearance of PMS 3995 C and how should I choose the right finish?

PMS 3995 C is sensitive to sheen. Higher-sheen finishes like gloss or semi-gloss will increase the perceived brightness and intensity of its yellow-green tones, while matte or flat finishes can make the color appear more subdued. When selecting a sheen, consider viewing distance, substrate, and the visual intent of your brand project. For high-traffic areas or where durability is required, a higher-sheen may be preferred, but always evaluate a physical sample in your specific context before ordering for large-scale use.

Are there challenges in matching PMS 3995 C across different materials or applications?

Yes, matching PMS 3995 C exactly across various substrates and finishes can be challenging. As a brand color, PMS 3995 C can shift in appearance depending on the paint sheen, application method, and lighting. The yellow-green chroma and lower LRV can make minor variations more noticeable, especially on large surfaces. MyPerfectColor formulates each order to match the Pantone reference, but evaluating a sample on your target material and under final lighting is important to ensure the result aligns with your brand intent.

What should I know about applying PMS 3995 C to plastics or low-energy surfaces?

Not all plastics accept paint equally, and adhesion issues are common with low-energy surfaces. When applying PMS 3995 C to plastic, testing on the actual substrate is recommended before any full-scale production. Priming with a suitable adhesion promoter may be required. Always confirm adhesion and color appearance by sampling PMS 3995 C on the finished surface type in the desired sheen and under target lighting conditions to achieve a visually accurate, brand-consistent result.

Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 3995 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
