PMS 368 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (PMS), which is widely used in professional branding, marketing display, and industrial design contexts. This color exhibits a bright, energetic, and visually assertive vibe, with a distinctly fresh and contemporary appearance. It is commonly specified where a vibrant, recognizable green is required for brand identification or event activation.

PMS 368 C is moderately light, with a numeric LRV of 39.34, offering balanced brightness suitable for a range of environments. The color exhibits a cool green tendency, positioned near the yellow-green section of the spectrum. PMS 368 C is highly saturated and chromatic, providing strong color intensity and visual prominence. The undertone is clean yellow-green, giving the color a fresh and modern look. Perception of the color is sensitive to finish: glossy surfaces will appear more vivid, while matte finishes may soften its impact.

PMS 368 C works well in environments where a vibrant and easily recognized green is critical to brand communication, such as event signage, retail fixtures, or displays. Samples should be evaluated in the intended lighting conditions because the color is sensitive to viewing environment and finish. In comparison to similar mid-brightness greens, PMS 368 C is more chromatic and presents a cleaner, less muted character, which may require careful surface preparation and multiple coats for uniform coverage when reproduced in paint.

Similar colors:
PMS 375 C – Lighter and slightly more yellow, less saturated overall.

PMS 361 C – Slightly darker and more muted, with less chroma.

PMS 362 C – Darker and less vivid, with deeper green undertones.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 368 C

Will PMS 368 C provide full coverage in one coat when used for branding or display applications?

PMS 368 C is a highly saturated and bright green, which means it may require multiple coats to achieve true uniform color and coverage. For brand-critical applications, plan for careful surface preparation and expect that more coats may be necessary compared to less saturated or muted colors. This is important to ensure the finished appearance of PMS 368 C is consistent and vibrant across all components.

If I need to match PMS 368 C for a small area on an existing item, what is the best approach?

PMS 368 C is formulated for brand and display use where the Pantone reference is the color target. If you are addressing a small area and exact appearance with an existing item is critical, the Pantone code alone may not provide a precise match due to variation between materials and finishes. For true color alignment on a specific item, it is recommended to send a physical part for custom matching rather than ordering based only on PMS 368 C. This will help achieve closer visual alignment with your particular substrate and lighting conditions.

How difficult is it to match PMS 368 C accurately in paint, and what factors affect results?

Matching PMS 368 C can be challenging because it is highly chromatic and vibrant. Factors such as substrate, lighting, and the selected finish can significantly impact perceived color. MyPerfectColor specializes in accurate Pantone color reproduction for branding and display environments, but results may vary between applications. For brand-facing projects, always sample the color under actual lighting and on the same surface type used in final installation to ensure acceptance.

When is it appropriate to order paint matched to PMS 368 C using just the Pantone code?

Ordering using the Pantone code PMS 368 C is appropriate when your goal is to achieve a visually accurate and brand-aligned result for marketing, signage, displays, prototypes, or environments where the Pantone reference itself is the color target. This approach is best suited for projects where overall visual impact and consistency matter more than an exact match to a particular manufactured item.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 368 C?

Can I use the Pantone PMS 368 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
