PMS 3275 C is a Pantone Matching System (PMS) color in the Pantone PMS collection. This color presents a vivid, clean, and assertive vibe appropriate for brand-focused environments. It is characterized by its distinctly cool, teal-blue hue, noticeable chroma, and moderately deep value, making it stand out in identity systems and display fabrication where precise brand consistency is required.

PMS 3275 C displays a medium-dark appearance, with a listed LRV of 29.25 indicating moderate light reflectance. The color conveys a distinctly cool tendency, with a pronounced teal-blue bias. PMS 3275 C demonstrates high saturation, resulting in strong visual vibrancy. The undertone leans toward blue-green, without evident gray or neutral influence. The color may show sensitivity to finish; glossier finishes tend to increase perceived richness and chromatic intensity, while matte finishes may mute its vibrancy.

PMS 3275 C is most effective when color accuracy and strong visual presence are priorities, such as in displays, branded fixtures, or prototype environments. When specifying this color, confirm physical samples under the intended lighting, as both lighting and surface sheen can meaningfully shift the perceived depth and chroma. Compared to similar cool teals, this color holds a more intense presence and can appear more bluish or saturated, which should be accounted for when balancing with other brand colors or backgrounds.

Similar colors:
PMS 3262 C: Shares a similar hue but appears lighter and less deep.

PMS 3285 C: Is slightly darker and features a more pronounced green undertone.

PMS 321 C: Is deeper and shifts slightly more toward blue, resulting in a darker overall effect.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 3275 C

How can surface texture affect how PMS 3275 C appears when applied to different substrates?

Texture plays a significant role in how PMS 3275 C is perceived on a finished part. Rough or matte surfaces tend to scatter light and can make PMS 3275 C look less saturated or slightly lighter, while smooth or glossy finishes increase reflectivity and may make the color appear deeper and more vibrant. When brand consistency matters, always review PMS 3275 C on the actual substrate with the intended finish to assess color accuracy before final approval.

What are the typical production lead times for paint matched to PMS 3275 C?

PMS 3275 C paint is made to order to ensure alignment with the Pantone target. Standard lead times usually range from several business days to about two weeks, depending on the product format and current production schedule. Larger quantities or specialty formats may require additional time. If you have a critical deadline for your branding or display project, confirm lead time in advance to avoid delays.

What are best practices for comparing PMS 3275 C samples during color approval?

For reliable judgments when reviewing PMS 3275 C samples, ensure all samples are fully dry or cured, use consistent lighting similar to the installation environment, and compare on the same substrate and finish as the final application. These steps help minimize variables that can influence how PMS 3275 C looks, improving accuracy and confidence in color approvals for branded displays or prototypes.

What should I consider when using PMS 3275 C on metal or powder coated parts?

Before applying PMS 3275 C to metal or powder coated surfaces, thoroughly clean, degrease, and scuff the surface for best adhesion. Existing coatings, gloss level, and surface prep can all influence how the final PMS 3275 C color appears. For brand-focused projects, it is recommended to apply a test sample on your actual metal or finished part and review the result in intended lighting to confirm color accuracy and appearance before proceeding with your full project.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 3275 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
