PMS 2765 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (Pantone PMS) collection, widely used in branding, marketing, and display fabrication applications. This color presents a professional, reserved, and technical vibe with a distinctly cool, dark, and understated presence.

PMS 2765 C appears very dark, with a low LRV of 1.0, signifying minimal light reflectance.

The color displays a cool, blue-violet tendency.

This color is moderately saturated, resulting in strong but not overly vivid chromaticity.

It typically exhibits a muted violet-blue undertone under standard lighting.

PMS 2765 C is finish-sensitive; glossier finishes can slightly increase its visual depth, while matte finishes may further soften its appearance.

Use PMS 2765 C when a deep, cool-toned blue-violet is specified for corporate identity, signage, or marketing fixtures where color consistency is critical.

Because this color is extremely dark, variations in lighting (particularly low light) can cause it to appear nearly black or lose chromatic distinction.

Pay close attention to substrate preparation and finish selection to maintain color accuracy; uneven surfaces and flat finishes may reduce color vibrancy or depth compared to gloss or satin finishes.

When compared to other dark blue-violets, PMS 2765 C stands out for its muted but clear tone and extreme darkness, though it is less saturated than some other PMS blues.

Similar colors:

  • PMS 2745 C is similar but slightly more saturated and more blue in appearance.
  • PMS 2755 C shares a comparable darkness but appears cooler with a stronger blue overtone.
  • PMS 2767 C is darker and more neutral, showing less violet influence and a more indigo-like impression.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2765 C

How can lighting conditions affect the appearance of Pantone PMS 2765 C?

The appearance of Pantone PMS 2765 C can shift noticeably depending on the type and intensity of lighting. Because PMS 2765 C is extremely dark and has a blue-violet base, low or warm lighting can cause it to appear almost black or reduce its chromatic distinction. Evaluating PMS 2765 C under the lighting conditions where it will be seen is important to ensure brand consistency. Daylight, fluorescent, and LED lights may each influence the perceived undertone and depth of this color. Always review samples in your actual environment to make informed decisions.

What paint product formats are available for Pantone PMS 2765 C?

Pantone PMS 2765 C can be ordered in multiple formats, including custom spray paint, paint pens, and brush-in-cap bottles. Other options such as epoxy or urethane coatings and interior or exterior housepaint may be available depending on your project needs. When choosing a format for PMS 2765 C, consider the application method, the surface to be painted, and the scale of the project. Custom spray paint is common for displays, signage, and prototypes that require brand-accurate color delivery.

What does it mean to order paint matched to Pantone PMS 2765 C?

Ordering paint matched to Pantone PMS 2765 C means you are requesting a paint product formulated to visually match the PMS 2765 C color standard, not a licensed Pantone product. The Pantone code indicates a target visual reference for consistent color across vendors and substrates, but does not define the coating formula, manufacturing process, or finish. Final appearance can vary with product type, application, and lighting, so always verify in context if exact visual alignment is required.

Why should I sample Pantone PMS 2765 C before a large project?

Sampling Pantone PMS 2765 C on the actual substrate and under the installed lighting conditions is strongly recommended before full production. This color is especially dark and finish sensitive, so its appearance may change based on lighting, surface texture, and sheen. A small sample helps confirm brand acceptance and reduces risk of costly rework if the delivered color does not meet expectations in the finished environment.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2765 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2765 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 2765 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
