Pantone™ PMS 2756 C

Pantone PMS 2756 C is not recommended as a specification for touching up existing finishes. Pantone codes define a target color but do not specify gloss, substrate, or application variables. Even if new paint is matched to PMS 2756 C, differences in sheen, surface texture, and aging of the original coating may create visible mismatches. For accuracy on existing products, use the original manufacturer specification or submit a physical sample for precise matching instead.

To achieve the best results and brand consistency when using paint matched to PMS 2756 C, start by cleaning and degreasing the surface to remove contaminants. Lightly scuff glossy or smooth areas to improve adhesion. Make sure the surface is dry and free of dust before painting. It is a good idea to test a small area first to confirm coverage and adhesion, especially since PMS 2756 C is dark and strongly saturated. Over light-colored substrates, a tinted primer may help achieve full opacity.

The appearance of PMS 2756 C can vary significantly under different lighting conditions. Because this color is very dark and saturated, its look will shift depending on the type and intensity of light. Bright, direct lighting can make the blue-violet character more vivid, while dim or diffuse lighting may cause the color to appear almost black. To ensure your project achieves the intended visual effect, always evaluate PMS 2756 C samples under the same lighting conditions as the final installation.

The choice between matte and gloss finishes for PMS 2756 C affects both color impact and practical viewing. Gloss finishes provide greater punch and saturation, making the color more vivid and reflective, which works well for high-visibility graphics but may introduce glare. Matte finishes reduce glare and can appear richer up close, but the color may seem flatter and less intense at a distance or under subdued lighting. Consider where and how PMS 2756 C will be viewed to select the finish that best supports your brand goals.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
