PMS 105 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (PMS) collection used in brand identity, product specification, and display fabrication. This color presents a muted, organic, utilitarian vibe with an earthy undertone, resulting in a grounded and technical appearance. It is frequently chosen when a subdued presence is needed in a visual system, balancing distinction and subtlety.
PMS 105 C appears distinctly dark for a yellow-based color, with a low amount of reflectance (LRV 16.79). The color has a warm tendency; its hue is based on yellow-green, but moderated by low saturation. This color’s saturation is moderate for a PMS yellow, resulting in a muted look rather than vivid brightness. PMS 105 C displays earthy olive undertones, contributing to its subdued appearance. Finish can affect the perceived depth; matte finishes intensify its utilitarian character, while higher sheens may brighten the yellow aspect slightly.
Use PMS 105 C when a project calls for an earthy, unintrusive yellow-green that avoids both vividness and visual noise. It performs well in brand environments and visual systems seeking an organic, industrial, or heritage edge. Evaluate surface prep and sample the color under actual lighting conditions to avoid unexpected shifts to dullness or over-warming, especially in low-light or high-gloss settings. Compared to other PMS yellows or olive tones, PMS 105 C stays restrainly muted and does not skew brightly, making it less likely to dominate surrounding color elements.

Pantone PMS 105 C is often specified for sign, display, and exhibit fabrication to ensure brand consistency and visual alignment with corporate identity standards. PMS 105 C provides a standardized target across materials and vendors, reducing guesswork and communication errors. When fabricating components, it is important to sample PMS 105 C on your actual substrate and in project lighting conditions, as surface type and lighting can affect the perceived color. This approach helps deliver the intended appearance in the finished environment.
For the best match and finish with Pantone PMS 105 C spray paint, apply multiple thin coats rather than one thick coat. Allow each coat to dry partially before applying the next, which helps avoid runs and uneven coverage. This is important for achieving color accuracy and uniform appearance, especially with muted or earthy tones like PMS 105 C. Always sample the color on your actual material first and confirm the finish before proceeding with a full installation.
Pantone PMS 105 C cannot be reliably cross-referenced to another paint company''s color code. Pantone standards are unique and designed for consistent brand reproduction, while each paint manufacturer maintains its own palette and formulas. Even if another brand offers a visually similar color, small differences in finish, pigment, and material may prevent an exact match to PMS 105 C. For projects requiring Pantone accuracy, it is best to specify PMS 105 C by name and obtain a sample before full production.
The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for Pantone PMS 105 C paint is based on the specific type of paint or coating you order, not the color itself. To obtain the correct SDS, locate the product type you are using (such as spray paint, urethane, or epoxy) and consult the SDS library for that product. Always review the SDS for your selected paint type to ensure safe handling and compliance.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
