Hello,
Thank you for your question and the photos. Being able to see the room is so helpful! A sage green would seem like a good choice for a room with exposed brick, but green can bring out the pink in exposed brick, and orange in the wood floors. The key would be choosing a very neutral green, almost to the point of beige, without a hint of coolness.
Gray could also work, but the challenge with gray and red is muddiness together. So a warm gray will be the best choice (or a "greige" color.) Sampling the coors you're considering is extremely important when working with a large expanse of exposed brick and a wood floor.
The key for either color you're choosing is to keep it warm, and watch for the pink in the brick wall, and a yellow or orange undertone in the wood floor.
Here are colors that you may want to sample in the living room:

Hope this is helpful,

Room with exposed brick wall
My son wants to change the red paint in this condo he purchased. His taste leans toward contemporary. I say a soft sage green but he wants gray. What would work best. We're keeping the trim white.
