• Identify and clean: Remove oils, waxes, silicone, and oxidation. Clean thoroughly and rinse/dry.
• De-gloss: Mechanically scuff the existing finish to a uniform matte without cutting through edges. Feather damaged areas.
• Adhesion check: Apply a small test patch with the intended primer/topcoat and perform a simple tape-pull after cure. If adhesion is poor, strip or use a bonding/adhesion-promoting primer approved for the substrate.
• Prime as needed: Select a compatible primer for previously coated surfaces; follow the coating system's recoat windows.
• Topcoat: Apply RAL 7021 in controlled coats to target DFT. Expect that sheen/texture may not match an original powder texture.
