RAL 1000 Green Beige Paint

• Acceptance will be judged under specific lighting (e.g., LED on the line) where metamerism risk is higher.

Risks to consider:

• Powder vs. liquid coatings can appear different in the same RAL due to gloss/texture and film build.
• Lighting changes perceived color; verify under specified conditions to avoid metamerism issues.
• Fan decks and chips age; do not use worn references as the sole acceptance standard.

How to proceed:

• For standard RAL: specify "RAL 1000 Green Beige" plus required gloss (e.g., matte/semigloss/gloss) and texture; confirm acceptance is to the RAL standard under neutral lighting.
• For sample/OEM match: provide a clean control sample or OEM powder code, state gloss (60 degrees GU), texture, and required tolerance; request an approval panel/drawdown before production.

Primer choice is driven by substrate and service environment; the RAL 1000 color does not determine primer.

• Carbon steel: clean to sound bare metal; use a corrosion-resistant epoxy primer for most environments. For lower-demand indoor use, an alkyd or acrylic metal primer can be acceptable if compatible with the topcoat.
• Galvanized steel: remove oils/white rust; use a wash/etch primer or an epoxy/acrylic formulated for galvanized surfaces. Avoid direct alkyds on fresh galvanizing.
• Aluminum: degrease and scuff; use a self-etch or epoxy primer. Add an adhesion promoter if recommended by the primer manufacturer.
• Existing paint or powder coat (touch-up): clean, degloss/scuff, and spot-prime bare metal only. Use a bonding primer if adhesion is uncertain. Verify compatibility with unknown coatings via a small test patch.
• Plastics: identify resin; use a plastic adhesion promoter followed by a compatible primer/topcoat system. Always test for softening or poor adhesion.

Practical tips:

• For faster hide under RAL 1000 Green Beige, a light gray or buff-tinted primer helps reduce topcoat coats.
• Follow the product data sheet for recoat windows and film builds; improper timing can cause lifting or poor adhesion.
• When corrosion resistance or chemical exposure is critical, prefer a 2K epoxy primer under a 2K polyurethane/urethane topcoat.

"RAL 1000 Green Beige" identifies the color target only. Add the following to avoid rework:

• Acceptance standard: to the RAL standard chip, to a supplied customer sample, or to an existing part.
• Gloss/texture: specify gloss (e.g., 60 degrees GU range) and any texture/orange-peel requirements.
• Coating chemistry/performance: e.g., alkyd, acrylic, epoxy, polyurethane; include environment (indoor/outdoor, chemicals, temperature).
• Application method: liquid vs. powder; for liquids, note if brushing, spraying, or aerosol touch-up is intended.
• Substrate and prep: metal/plastic type and any prep expectations.
