MyPerfectColor custom spray paint matched to Fed Std 595C 30277 is a muted medium-depth tan with a warm yellow-brown cast. It reads more earthy than clear, with low chroma and enough depth to keep it from looking pale or washed out.

This reference is often used on specification-driven equipment where a consistent color target matters, such as panels, brackets, enclosures, cabinets, tool carts, support hardware, and fabricated parts. It can also be used on smaller sprayable items like vent covers, switch plates, railings, grilles, housings, and mock-up components when a government-standard match is needed across mixed materials.

Because the color is muted rather than vivid, it usually does not have the coverage challenges of bright colors, but substrate color, film build, and sheen can still shift the result. A dark or uneven base can change how warm or brown the finish looks, and gloss differences can make edges, repairs, or surface texture more noticeable.

For repair work, matching the Fed Std 595C reference is not always the same as matching an older in-service coating. Weathering, oxidation, dirt, and previous repainting can move the surrounding finish away from the standard chip, so a project-specific sample or comparison to the existing part may be worth using when the repair is acceptance-sensitive.

About US Government Federal Standard (now Aerospace Material Specification / AMS) 595 Colors. Fed-Std-595C / FED STD 595 Colors

The Federal Standard (now Aerospace Material Specification / AMS) 595 colors are used to specify colors for US Government applications. The color are used by the US Government agencies, branches and suppliers. The most common requests we receive for Fed Standard Colors are for spray paint, Direct to Metal and other paints for prototyping, marking and identification and touchup applications. Typical clients include the USCG, all branches of the Armed Services, the State Department, Lockheed Martin and Boeing. For example, we provided paint to the Navy for marking shells with the specific Fed Std color designated to identify the type of round.

We offer 5 standard sheens in our lacquer touchup paint: flat, low lustre, satin, semi-gloss or gloss. We also offer a full range of Alkyd and Acrylic Direct To Metal paints. Please contact us if you have any questions. Please submit RFQs to [email protected]

The colors in the Federal Standard set have no official names and are identified by five-digits. The numbers designate the sheen, color classification and color intensity.

The first digit will be 1,2 or 3 and indicates the level of sheen:
    1 = gloss
    2 = semi gloss
    3 = matt

The second digit indicates the color group;
      0 = Brown     5 = Blue
      1 = Red         6 = Grey
      2 = Orange   7 = Other (white, black, violet, metallic)
      3 = Yellow     8 = Fluorescent
      4 = Green

The third to fifth digits indicate the intensity. Lower numbers indicates a darker color and higher numbers indicate a lighter color.

While the Fed Std colors indicate sheen as part of the 5 digits, MyPerfectColor still requires you to enter a specific sheen. For example, the color Fed Std 37038 technically refers to a matte finish, but MyPerfectColor offers it in any sheen.

Frequently Asked Questions About Match of US Government™ Fed Std 595C 30277 *

What does Fed Std 595C 30277 mean for MyPerfectColor paint, and what does it not define?

A match of US Government Fed Std 595C 30277 is a government color reference target. It tells you which color to order, but it does not by itself choose the coating chemistry, gloss level, surface prep, corrosion system, or any formal approval status. When you order from MyPerfectColor, you are ordering custom-matched paint made to the selected Fed Standard 595C reference, not an official government-issued coating system.

Will Fed Std 595C 30277 match an older painted part for touch-up, or can the existing finish still look different?

A match of US Government Fed Std 595C 30277 can be the correct reference and still look different next to an older in-service coating. Weathering, fade, sheen change, texture, film build, and the original coating system can all affect the repaired area. If the part is aged or highly visible, a full-part repaint or a match to the existing part may be a better choice than relying on the standard code alone.

What should I confirm before ordering a custom MyPerfectColor match for Fed Std 595C 30277?

Before ordering Fed Std 595C 30277, confirm the exact color code, the product format you need, the finish, and the quantity. Custom-matched orders are made to your selected reference, so they should be reviewed carefully before purchase. If the project is acceptance-critical or must match an existing coating, verify whether the standard code is enough or whether you need a sample or existing-part match instead.

What product formats can I order for Fed Std 595C 30277 from MyPerfectColor?

A match of US Government Fed Std 595C 30277 can be ordered as MyPerfectColor custom-matched paint in formats such as spray paint, touch-up paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, and other formats where available. The color code is the reference target, while the product format should be chosen based on how you plan to apply it and what surface you are repairing or coating.

How can finish and sheen change the look of Fed Std 595C 30277 after application?

The color reference for Fed Std 595C 30277 does not control the whole final appearance. Gloss, matte, satin, texture, and film build can all make the same matched color read differently after it is applied. If you need the closest visual result, choose the finish that best matches the existing surface or project requirement, not the color code alone.
