Pantone™ PMS 2343 U

PMS 2343 U is a Pantone reference color, and its appearance can shift depending on lighting type, brightness, and viewing angle. Daylight, LED, fluorescent, and warm indoor lighting can each change how saturated or dark the color appears.

For brand-critical work, evaluate PMS 2343 U under the same lighting where it will be installed or displayed. This helps reduce surprises caused by metamerism, where a color match looks correct in one light source but different in another.

PMS 2343 U can be matched into paint for plastics, but plastics vary widely in surface energy and adhesion behavior. Some plastics may require specific primers or surface preparation to achieve proper adhesion.

Before production, test the PMS 2343 U paint on the actual plastic material you plan to use. This confirms adhesion, appearance, and coverage under real conditions rather than relying on assumptions.

Pantone books are printed reference standards, not paint samples. PMS 2343 U paint is matched visually to the Pantone reference, but the final appearance can differ due to sheen, substrate, and application method.

Use the Pantone book as a color target, then review a painted sample of PMS 2343 U on your actual material. This is the best way to set accurate expectations for brand approval.

Highly saturated Pantone colors like PMS 2343 U may have lower hide compared to neutral colors. This can mean additional coats are needed to achieve uniform color, especially over dark or uneven substrates.

Using an appropriate undercoat can improve coverage consistency and reduce the number of finish coats required. Testing your full coating system in advance helps confirm coverage expectations.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
