Pantone™ PMS 2240 U

Pantone PMS 2240 U is a brand-standard color reference often specified for signage, displays, and exhibit components where visual alignment to brand guidelines matters. The Pantone code defines the color target, not the paint chemistry or finish. For fabricated elements, the safest approach is to evaluate a sample of PMS 2240 U on the actual substrate and under expected lighting before full production, since materials, sheen, and lighting can all affect how the color is perceived.

A standard Pantone PMS 2240 U match is appropriate when the Pantone reference itself is the required target, such as for branded displays, marketing installations, exhibits, or prototype builds. In these cases, visual agreement with the Pantone standard is more important than matching an existing painted surface. If the project involves large, permanent, or highly visible installations with formal approvals, reviewing a physical sample first can reduce risk.

Safety and VOC characteristics depend on the specific paint product and format selected, not on the Pantone PMS 2240 U color itself. Always review the Safety Data Sheet for the exact product you plan to use and follow all handling, ventilation, and application guidance. Different formats may have different requirements, so product-level documentation should guide safe use.

For large areas, plan for consistent application technique and sufficient coverage when using Pantone PMS 2240 U. Saturated colors may need additional coats to achieve even hide, especially across seams or varying substrates. Keeping the same application method, film build, and sheen across the entire surface helps avoid patchiness. Testing coverage on a sample area before full application can highlight any adjustments needed.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
