PMS 2003 U is a Pantone PMS color specified as a standardized visual target rather than a paint formula. It presents a fresh, open vibe that reads as light, clean, energetic, and contemporary, with a noticeably luminous presence.
The color appears very light, with a high light reflectance value that contributes to its bright appearance. It leans warm on the yellow-green side and shows a moderately high saturation that keeps it vivid without appearing harsh.
PMS 2003 U carries a yellow-forward undertone that can shift subtly depending on lighting conditions and surrounding materials.
PMS 2003 U works well in brand-facing displays, prototypes, and marketing installations where a light, optimistic green is needed to stand out without visual heaviness. Because of its lightness and chroma, it may benefit from a light-colored primer and multiple thin coats to achieve even coverage, especially over darker substrates or in higher-sheen finishes.
Similar colors:
PMS 2002 U: slightly more yellow and a touch brighter, with less green influence.
PMS 2004 U: marginally greener and a bit deeper, with increased visual weight.
PMS 358 U: cooler and more balanced toward green, with reduced yellow warmth.

PMS 2003 U is defined against a Pantone reference standard, but how it appears can change based on lighting and viewing conditions. Different light sources such as daylight, LED, or fluorescent lighting can shift how brightness and saturation are perceived.
For brand-critical applications, you should evaluate PMS 2003 U under the same lighting where it will be displayed. This helps avoid surprises when the color is installed, especially in retail, exhibit, or marketing environments.
PMS 2003 U is a vivid Pantone color, and saturated hues like this often have lower hide than neutral colors. Depending on the substrate and paint format, multiple coats may be needed to achieve even, uniform coverage.
Using an appropriate undercoat can help improve consistency and reduce the number of finish coats required. If coverage uniformity is critical for your project, planning for test panels or samples is recommended.
PMS 2003 U is not recommended as a touch-up specification. Pantone PMS colors define a visual color target, but they do not control variables like sheen, substrate, or application method.
Because of these factors, a PMS match may not blend seamlessly with an existing finish. Pantone references are best used for new, brand-facing applications rather than localized touch-up or repair work.
Sampling PMS 2003 U is recommended for large, high-visibility projects or whenever formal brand approval is required. It is also advised when the color will be applied across multiple substrates or viewed under specific installed lighting.
A sample allows you to confirm appearance, coverage, and overall visual impact before committing to a full production order, reducing brand and schedule risk.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 2003 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.
The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2003 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
