PMS 616 U is a Pantone Matching System color used as a specification reference for brand and marketing applications. It conveys a calm, natural, understated vibe with a gentle yellow-green presence that feels open, subdued, and contemporary.
The color appears light with an LRV of 64.08 and leans warm due to its yellow-green balance. It shows moderate saturation and carries a subtle yellow undertone that reduces sharpness.
PMS 616 U works well in brand environments that require a light, friendly green without high visual intensity. Because it is light and moderately chromatic, surface preparation and even application can help avoid patchiness, especially on darker or uneven substrates.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.
Similar colors:
PMS 615 U: slightly darker and more olive, with increased visual weight.
PMS 617 U: lighter and more yellow, with a brighter overall appearance.
PMS 614 U: darker and more muted, with reduced green clarity.

For retail pop-ups and brand installations, PMS 616 U should be evaluated under the actual lighting and viewing conditions of the space. Pantone codes define a visual color target, not a paint formula, so the appearance can shift based on substrate, finish, and light source.
Before committing to a large order, it is best to review a physical sample applied to the same material you plan to use. This helps confirm brightness, coverage, and overall visual impact, especially in high-visibility brand environments where consistency matters.
The choice between matte and gloss for PMS 616 U depends on lighting and how the surface will be viewed. Gloss finishes increase reflectivity and can make the color appear more saturated and vivid, but they can also introduce glare under strong lighting.
Matte finishes reduce glare and reflections, which can help with readability and consistency across larger surfaces, but they may appear slightly flatter. For brand-critical applications, reviewing samples in both finishes under your actual lighting is the safest way to decide.
Surface texture can noticeably change how PMS 616 U looks once applied. Smooth surfaces reflect light more evenly, which usually makes the color appear cleaner and more saturated.
Textured or uneven substrates create shadows and diffuse reflections, which can make the same color appear darker or less vivid. If PMS 616 U must look consistent across multiple materials, sampling on each substrate is recommended before final production.
Paint matched to PMS 616 U is made to order, not pulled from pre-mixed stock. Production lead time depends on the paint format selected and current production volume.
For time-sensitive brand or marketing projects, it is best to plan ahead and allow extra time for sampling and approval before the full order is produced. Ordering early helps reduce schedule risk for installations and launches.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 616 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.
The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 616 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
