Pantone™ PMS 4665 U

PMS 4665 U is a Pantone color reference, but its painted appearance can change based on surface texture. Smooth surfaces reflect light more evenly, which can make PMS 4665 U appear cleaner and slightly brighter. Textured or porous surfaces create more shadowing and uneven reflectivity, which can make the same color look darker or less saturated.

When visual accuracy matters, it is best to evaluate PMS 4665 U on the actual substrate and texture you plan to use, under the lighting where it will be seen.

PMS 4665 U paint is custom made to order based on the Pantone reference, not pulled from pre-mixed inventory. Because of this, it is important to confirm the product type, sheen, and format before ordering.

Custom made paint is difficult to revise once produced. For brand-critical or high-visibility projects, ordering a sample or small quantity first can help confirm appearance before committing to a full order.

The U in PMS 4665 U indicates the Pantone reference series the color comes from. Pantone codes can appear similar across different series, but they are not always interchangeable.

One standard spray can of PMS 4665 U typically covers about 10 to 12 square feet with one coat. Actual coverage can vary based on surface texture, application technique, and how heavy the coat is applied.

Textured surfaces and additional coats will reduce coverage per can. For brand-facing work, planning for extra material helps ensure even color and consistent appearance.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
