PMS 383 U is a Pantone PMS standard color identified for consistent visual communication across vendors and materials. It conveys a bright, energetic, attention-forward vibe with a fresh, acidic green character that reads as modern, assertive, and highly noticeable in branded environments.
The color shows a mid-range lightness with an LRV of 36.65 and reads as warm-leaning due to its strong yellow influence within the green range. It exhibits very high saturation and chroma, and carries a sharp yellow-green undertone that remains prominent under most lighting conditions.
PMS 383 U works well when strong brand visibility is required, such as on signage, displays, and experiential elements meant to stand out quickly. Its high saturation means coverage may require additional coats, and a light or white primer can help achieve more uniform color development, especially over darker substrates. Finish choice and lighting can noticeably affect perceived brightness, so sampling on the actual surface and reviewing under installed lighting conditions is recommended.

Pantone PMS 383 U is a color reference, not a paint product or formula. Safety, VOC content, and handling requirements depend entirely on the specific paint product you choose, such as spray paint, epoxy, or urethane.
Before using any paint matched to PMS 383 U, review the Safety Data Sheet for that product and follow all recommended ventilation, application, and handling guidance. Do not assume VOC levels or safety characteristics based on the Pantone code itself.
Yes, PMS 383 U can be matched into paint products suitable for metal, but surface preparation is critical. Existing powder coat or factory finishes should be cleaned and properly scuffed to promote adhesion.
Be aware that the color, gloss, and texture of the underlying coating can influence the final appearance of PMS 383 U. For brand-facing components, it is strongly recommended to apply and review a sample on the actual metal substrate before committing to full production.
Pantone PMS 383 U is part of the Pantone Matching System, which exists to help brands specify and communicate exact color targets across vendors and materials.
When used for signage, displays, exhibits, or branded environments, PMS 383 U provides a shared visual reference so different components align to the same brand color intent. The Pantone code defines the target appearance, while the final result depends on material, finish, and lighting.
Yes. For projects that require brand approval or involve high visibility, ordering a small sample of PMS 383 U is the safest approach.
Evaluate the sample on the actual substrate and under the installed lighting conditions. This helps confirm color appearance, coverage, and finish before full production, reducing the risk of delays or rework in brand approval workflows.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 383 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.
The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 383 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
