PMS 151 U is a Pantone Matching System color used as a standardized brand reference rather than a paint formula, presenting a strong, energetic orange with a bold, attention-forward presence.
The overall vibe is warm, saturated, lively, and visually assertive, supporting applications where color recognition and impact matter.
The color appears mid-range in lightness with an LRV of 35.34. This color reads distinctly warm due to its orange-forward hue, and it shows very high saturation and chroma that creates strong visual intensity.
This color carries a subtle yellow undertone that helps it remain bright rather than earthy across many viewing conditions.
PMS 151 U works well in brand-facing displays, signage, and fabricated elements where bold color presence is intentional. Because of its high saturation, it may require additional coats for even coverage, and a light or tinted primer can help reduce show-through on darker substrates.
Finish choice and lighting can significantly affect perceived brightness, so evaluating a sample in the intended environment is recommended before full production.

PMS 151 U is a Pantone PMS color target, not a durability specification. The longevity of a Pantone matched spray paint depends on surface preparation, the paint system selected, and the environment where it will be used.
For brand-facing displays, signage, and exhibit components, proper cleaning and priming are critical. If the painted surface will be handled frequently or exposed to light or weather, selecting an appropriate paint type and optional clear topcoat is important. Choose the paint system based on exposure needs rather than assuming durability from the Pantone code itself.

PMS 151 U is a bright, highly saturated Pantone color. Colors in this range often have lower hide than neutral or muted tones.
To achieve uniform color and visual impact, additional coats may be required, especially over darker substrates. Using a recommended primer and allowing proper flash time between coats helps achieve a consistent appearance that aligns with the Pantone color target.
No. Pantone PMS colors like PMS 151 U are intended for brand color reproduction, not touch-up or repair matching.
If you need a touch-up-grade result to match an existing painted or manufactured surface, the correct path is to send a physical part or sample for custom color matching. Ordering by Pantone code alone is best suited for branding, displays, prototypes, and marketing applications where the Pantone reference is the visual target.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 151 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.
The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 151 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
