Pantone™ PMS 1235 U

Yes. PMS 1235 U is a defined Pantone color target, but the finish you choose can change how that color is perceived. A glossier finish typically looks brighter and more saturated, while a matte or low-sheen finish can appear softer or slightly darker, even when matched to the same Pantone reference.

If you are comparing samples, make sure they use the same finish. A matte sample next to a gloss sample can look like a different color, even though both are matched to PMS 1235 U. For brand-critical work, confirm the finish early and evaluate samples under the lighting where the color will be used.

PMS 1235 U is a bright, saturated color, which can make uneven coverage more noticeable on large surfaces. Plan for consistent application across the entire area, using the same number of coats and the same technique from start to finish.

Avoid stopping and restarting in the middle of visible sections, and allow proper flash or dry time between coats as recommended for the product you choose. For very large or high-visibility applications, testing coverage on a sample panel can help set expectations before full production.

Start by selecting the paint format that fits your application, such as spray paint or another available option for branding and display use. Then choose the finish, keeping in mind that sheen affects how PMS 1235 U will appear.

Next, select the quantity needed for your project and review any available options. Because Pantone PMS colors are visual standards rather than paint formulas, ordering a sample first is recommended for large or brand-sensitive projects to confirm appearance before committing to a full run.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 1235 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
