PMS 2380 C is a member of the Pantone PMS collection, recognized for its intense, dark blue-violet appearance and technical, purposeful, high-impact vibe. It is characteristically serious, cool-toned, and assertive, making it suitable for situations demanding vivid, unambiguous color specification. Its color formulation is oriented around visual uniformity across diverse materials in branding, display, and industrial design contexts.

PMS 2380 C exhibits very low lightness (LRV: 3.31), appearing nearly as a deep midnight hue in most lighting conditions. The color tends toward a cool temperature, with a distinct blue-violet character. The color has high chroma, presenting as vivid and highly saturated relative to its dark base. PMS 2380 C possesses a blue undertone with a perceptible violet edge, depending on the viewing conditions and finish. The finish can significantly influence perceived vibrancy and depth; higher-gloss finishes may increase the appearance of saturation, while matte finishes can mute the chromatic intensity.

PMS 2380 C works well in scenarios requiring strong, consistent brand identity, especially in environments where deep, saturated colors are used to command attention or convey a sense of authority. When selecting this color, it is important to test under project-specific lighting, as deep blue-violets can shift in appearance between artificial and natural light sources. Gloss or sheen level should be chosen with care according to the environment, as greater gloss can amplify vibrancy but also reveal surface irregularities. When applied alongside similar saturated colors, PMS 2380 C maintains its intensity without being easily overpowered, but low LRV may require additional coats for true color uniformity, especially on light substrates.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2380 C

What does it mean to order Pantone PMS 2380 C in paint format?

When you order Pantone PMS 2380 C in paint, you are requesting a paint color that visually matches the standardized Pantone PMS 2380 C reference. This means the paint is formulated to replicate the appearance of PMS 2380 C as closely as possible, following Pantone's visual specifications. It is important to note that Pantone PMS codes are color targets, not specific paint formulas, manufacturing processes, or finish types. For consistent results, always verify if your finish and substrate requirements align with your project's Pantone color expectations.

How much coverage can I expect from a can of PMS 2380 C spray paint?

Coverage for a single can of PMS 2380 C spray paint is typically about 20 to 25 square feet per coat on a smooth, primed surface. Because PMS 2380 C is a dark, saturated blue-violet with low light reflectance, lighter substrates and textured surfaces may need multiple coats to achieve true, uniform color. Adjust your quantity estimates if your project requires high coverage or strong brand appearance, and always test on your actual material when possible.

Can PMS 2380 C be cross-referenced to other paint brands or codes?

PMS 2380 C is defined by the Pantone Matching System and does not have guaranteed equivalent colors in other paint brands. Cross-referencing vivid Pantone PMS colors like 2380 C to other manufacturers is rarely exact because most brands use unique formulations and palettes. For critical projects where brand accuracy is essential, always specify Pantone PMS 2380 C directly and avoid relying on unknown color matches from other systems.

Should I order a sample of PMS 2380 C before full production?

Sampling PMS 2380 C is strongly recommended for large or visible brand projects, especially when color appearance must meet approval standards or substrates are not standard. Deep, saturated colors like PMS 2380 C can shift in appearance depending on lighting, sheen, and application surface. Testing a sample helps confirm that the final result meets your visual expectations and brand consistency requirements before completing a larger order.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2380 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2380 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2380 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
