PMS 2163 C is a Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) standard color recognized in professional branding and design workflows. It primarily presents as a subdued, medium-dark blue-violet with a cool, restrained character. The overall vibe is described as professional, muted, technical, and reserved. It is designed for environments where brand consistency and visual coordination are important, and is chosen for its adaptability in both display and prototype contexts.

- PMS 2163 C appears as a medium-dark blue-violet. - The color has a cool temperature due to its position on the hue angle. - It exhibits low to moderate chroma, making it less saturated than vivid purples. - The undertone is distinctly blue, with subtle violet influences. - The color maintains a muted appearance, which may be influenced by matte versus gloss finishes. - The measured LRV of 31.9 indicates moderate darkness, providing a balance between visibility and subtlety.

PMS 2163 C works well in projects where a controlled, cool blue-violet is specified for branding, prototyping, or environment design. The color's moderate darkness provides legibility without dominating visuals, making it suitable for backgrounds or accents where readability and contrast need to be maintained. When applying this color, carefully evaluate lighting conditions—cool ambient light will enhance blue notes, while warm lighting can mute its vibrancy. As a less saturated color, it generally covers surfaces with reasonable uniformity, but final appearance should always be evaluated in the intended finish and lighting environment. Compared to more chromatic blue-violets, PMS 2163 C will appear subtler and less intense, exhibiting less color shift between different finishes.

Similar colors:
PMS 2162 C: Similar hue but is slightly darker and more muted, resulting in a more subdued effect.

PMS 2726 C: Shares blue-violet qualities, but is lighter and significantly more vibrant.

PMS 2100 C: Comparable coolness, but appears lighter and slightly warmer due to increased violet.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2163 C

How is Pantone PMS 2163 C used to create a consistent brand experience?

Pantone PMS 2163 C serves as a standardized color reference that helps brands achieve a unified visual identity across marketing, displays, and prototypes. By specifying PMS 2163 C, teams and vendors can reproduce the same blue-violet tone consistently, regardless of where or how it is applied, reducing the risk of mismatched materials or inconsistent brand representation. This makes it possible for all branded environments using PMS 2163 C to present a coordinated and recognizable visual message to customers and stakeholders.

What expedited options are available if I need PMS 2163 C quickly for a project deadline?

If you require PMS 2163 C on an accelerated schedule, you can select expedited production during checkout. Expedited service options may help meet tight marketing or installation deadlines. For projects with hard deadlines, contact MyPerfectColor before ordering to confirm feasibility and verify lead times for PMS 2163 C in your required format. Proper planning helps ensure you receive the color when needed for brand displays or prototypes.

Will Pantone PMS 2163 C paint perfectly match the color in my Pantone book?

Pantone books are print reference standards, while painted surfaces can differ in appearance due to sheen, surface texture, and substrate. When ordering paint in PMS 2163 C, expect some variation from the swatch in your Pantone book, especially under different lighting or in different finishes. For best results, order a sample and apply it to your actual display material before full production to confirm acceptability and visual match for brand consistency.

Is Pantone PMS 2163 C paint suitable for touch-up or repair applications?

Pantone PMS 2163 C is intended for achieving consistent brand color on displays and prototypes, not for touch-up or repair use. If you need an exact match for repairing a specific item, send a physical part for custom color matching rather than ordering based solely on the PMS 2163 C code. This approach ensures the new coating aligns as closely as possible with your existing material, as using PMS 2163 C alone may not align perfectly with older or unique finishes.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2163 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2163 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 2163 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
