PMS 7518 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection. This color communicates an understated, grounded, and stable vibe, combining practical versatility with a businesslike, professional character. The color’s deep tone and muted chroma make it function well in situations requiring restrained visual impact that supports clear identity or environmental differentiation.
PMS 7518 C appears dark, with a low LRV of 9.54 indicating minimal light reflectance. The color leans warm, with an undertone that subtly references earthy brown and taupe shades. This color features low-to-medium saturation, delivering a muted effect rather than strong vividness. The undertone is a soft, brown-based gray, sometimes described as taupe or mushroom-like under different lighting. PMS 7518 C shows moderate sensitivity to finish; glossier sheens will subtly enrich its warmth, while matte finishes will increase its subdued, earthen quality.
PMS 7518 C is effective for branded environments, displays, or architectural moments where a color needs to appear grounded and professional without dominating the scene. Use it in settings where neutrality is important but stark gray is too cool or industrial. This color is best viewed and tested under the actual lighting and finish it will be used in; differences in gloss and light can shift its warmth or apparent darkness. Compared to similar browns, PMS 7518 C is generally less saturated and reads as more neutral; this quality minimizes risk of overpowering adjacent colors or elements.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

Pantone PMS 7518 C is frequently referenced in branding literature as a color choice for hospitality brands seeking a contemporary earth-tone palette. It has also been mentioned by design professionals as a supporting tone in retail and packaging, often set alongside more saturated brand colors. These examples suggest PMS 7518 C is valued for delivering a modern, grounded look that aligns with professional and understated brand appearances.
Pantone PMS 7518 C should be ordered as a standard PMS color match when you need to achieve brand consistency for marketing displays, signage, exhibit components, prototypes, or pop-up environments where the Pantone reference is the required target. This approach is appropriate when the goal is visual alignment and brand accuracy, rather than matching to a specific substrate or existing finish. Always confirm that PMS 7518 C is the correct reference for your project by checking brand guidelines or documentation.
Pantone codes like PMS 7518 C may include suffixes such as 'C', 'U', or 'M', which indicate the intended material or finish (for example, 'C' refers to coated stock). To ensure you are ordering the exact color required for your project, always verify which suffix or series is specified in your brand standards or project documentation. Using the wrong suffix could result in a color that looks noticeably different in the final application.
When applying a Pantone PMS 7518 C match to plastics or low-surface-energy materials, surface preparation and primer selection are critical. Many plastics require specialty primers to ensure proper adhesion and color accuracy. Before starting a full production run, it is important to test the paint and primer combination on the actual plastic substrate under intended lighting conditions. This helps avoid issues with color shift, coverage, or adhesion failures.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
