PMS 7509 C (Pantone Matching System / Pantone PMS collection) presents as a mid-value, muted ochre suitable for conveying warmth and groundedness. The vibe of this color can be described as natural, stable, friendly, earthy, and subtle, making it effective for designs seeking an approachable and organic character without excessive brightness or saturation.

PMS 7509 C exhibits a mid-light appearance, with a light reflectance value (LRV) of 46.7. The color has a warm orientation, registering a yellow-to-yellow-orange hue. PMS 7509 C is moderately saturated, resulting in a color that is distinct but not overpowering. This color features subdued undertones reminiscent of clay or soft caramel, providing approachability and versatility. The appearance of PMS 7509 C is moderately sensitive to finish; gloss finishes can slightly enhance its saturation and perceived brightness, while matte may render it more understated.

PMS 7509 C is commonly selected when a brand or environment requires a warm, earthy tone that remains professional and accessible. It tends to perform well in environments with moderate to warm lighting, which support its warmth and stop it from appearing flat. It is important to test this color in both gloss and matte finishes, as sheen will alter lightness and saturation presentation. Relative to similar hues, PMS 7509 C avoids extremes of either brightness or dullness, making it a balanced option for brand-centric applications while minimizing color-cast issues across materials.

Similar colors:
PMS 7508 C is slightly lighter and more muted, resulting in a softer presence.

PMS 7510 C is deeper and more saturated, providing a more robust and assertive tone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7509 C

Can I order Pantone PMS 7509 C paint by finding an equivalent in another paint brand?

Pantone PMS 7509 C is a standardized color target used for brand consistency, but it does not have a direct or guaranteed equivalent in other paint brands. Most paint manufacturers have their own distinct color systems, and cross-referencing between Pantone PMS and major paint brand colors is rarely exact. This is especially important for PMS 7509 C, since its unique mid-value ochre cannot be precisely reproduced using off-the-shelf alternatives. For accurate and consistent brand results, it is best to specify and order paint matched directly to Pantone PMS 7509 C.

What affects the shipping transit time for Pantone PMS 7509 C paint orders?

Shipping transit time for Pantone PMS 7509 C depends on both your location and the shipping method you select at checkout. Custom matched paints like PMS 7509 C may also have a production lead time before they ship. For critical brand launches or deadlines, be sure to account for both production and delivery time in your planning. If you need PMS 7509 C by a specific date, consider expedited shipping and check estimated delivery timelines before placing your order.

Why does Pantone PMS 7509 C look different under various lighting conditions?

The appearance of Pantone PMS 7509 C can shift based on the type and strength of lighting where it is viewed. Lighting differences, such as warm indoor lighting, bright daylight, or cool fluorescent sources, can change how the color is perceived. It is important to evaluate PMS 7509 C in the actual environment and finish where it will be used to confirm it aligns with your expectations for brand or display use. Testing under final lighting ensures visually consistent results for brand presentations.

What should I consider when applying Pantone PMS 7509 C paint to metal or powder-coated parts?

For best results with Pantone PMS 7509 C on metal or powder-coated substrates, surface preparation is key. Ensure the surface is clean, free of oils or debris, and lightly scuffed if needed for adhesion. Existing coatings and the gloss level of the substrate can affect final appearance, so sample evaluation is recommended. Since PMS 7509 C is a moderately saturated color, application over different base materials or over high-gloss surfaces may alter its look. Always test your application process in advance to confirm brand consistency and visual alignment.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7509 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 7509 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 7509 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 7509 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7509 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
