PMS 9142 C is a Pantone PMS color specified as a standardized visual target rather than a paint formula. It conveys a pale, calm, fresh, understated, and modern vibe that reads clean and controlled rather than vivid.
The color appears very light, with an LRV of 76.3. It leans slightly warm with a yellow-influenced green tendency and shows low to moderate saturation for a softened appearance.
PMS 9142 C works well in brand-facing environments where a light, approachable green is needed and visual calm is important. Because of its lightness and modest saturation, it may show contrast over darker substrates and often benefits from a light or white primer to maintain uniformity.
Similar colors:
PMS 9141 C: lighter and more yellow, with a slightly airier appearance.
PMS 9143 C: slightly darker and greener, with more visual weight.

When using Pantone PMS 9142 C in a pop-up or retail setting, evaluate the lighting conditions where the paint will be applied, as lighting can shift the perceived color. For installations that will receive significant foot traffic or require a flawless visual appearance, choose a paint formulation that matches your durability needs and perform a sample application. Sampling allows you to confirm color accuracy, coverage, and finish under real-world lighting before proceeding with large-scale painting and branding projects.
The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for Pantone PMS 9142 C paint depends on the specific product type you select, such as spray paint, acrylic, or urethane. The color code does not affect the SDS. To find the correct SDS, visit the SDS library for the chosen paint product on the MyPerfectColor website. Review the SDS for each product type you plan to use before ordering or application.
The appearance of Pantone PMS 9142 C can change depending on the surface texture. Smooth surfaces reflect light evenly, making colors look brighter and more saturated, while textured or matte surfaces can diffuse light, causing the color to appear slightly lighter, darker, or less vivid. Always test the color on the actual substrate and finish you will use to confirm the desired visual outcome before full production.
Sampling Pantone PMS 9142 C is strongly recommended for large-scale brand activations, high-visibility installations, or when color approval is required from stakeholders. It is also important to sample when using different substrates or finishes, or when critical lighting conditions may affect color perception. Sampling helps identify any appearance issues and ensures the final result aligns with brand standards before committing to full production.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 9142 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
