PMS Warm Gray 11 C, from the Pantone PMS collection, is a dark, muted gray with an overt warm undertone and subdued appearance. The color projects a technical, stable, utilitarian, and businesslike vibe, commonly described as grounded and versatile. It is specifically formulated for color consistency in brand, marketing, display, and industrial design contexts where warm, dignified grays are required.
PMS Warm Gray 11 C has a relatively low LRV (12.77), making it visually quite dark. The color has a distinct warm tendency, with beige-taupe undertones that set it apart from cooler technical grays. This color exhibits moderate chroma, resulting in a clearly muted but not muddy or flat appearance. The undertone is a subtle, earthy warmth, which becomes more apparent in different lighting conditions or when placed next to cooler neutrals. Perception may vary with gloss level; higher-sheen finishes may make undertones slightly more pronounced, while matte finishes enhance its understated quality.
PMS Warm Gray 11 C is often used in brand identity systems for corporations emphasizing professionalism and reliability. The color is frequently specified for trade show environments, signage, and environmental graphics where a deliberate, unobtrusive look is required.
PMS Warm Gray 11 C works well in situations where a deep, non-blue gray is necessary for creating a strong yet reserved visual foundation. Consider using this color in environments requiring clarity and minimal distraction but not the coolness of standard grays. Care should be taken to assess lighting (especially warm vs. cool lights) and finish, as these factors impact both perceived warmth and richness. When compared to other grays, this color will appear notably warmer and less industrial.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

The surface texture plays a major role in how Pantone PMS Warm Gray 11 C will appear once applied. A smooth, glossy surface can make the color seem a bit lighter and may emphasize its warm undertone, while a rough or matte surface may appear darker and more muted. Textured or uneven substrates can create shadowing effects that influence perceived depth and richness. For consistent brand results, always test the color as a sample on your actual substrate and finish before producing final components.
Ordering a standard Pantone PMS Warm Gray 11 C match is appropriate when you need to match brand specifications for displays, signage, prototypes, or marketing environments where visual consistency with the Pantone standard is the primary requirement. This is the typical choice for event graphics, trade show components, and branded installations that reference the Pantone PMS guide. If your project requires brand alignment and fast turnaround across common display or exhibit formats, a standard PMS match is the recommended approach.
If you need to reorder Pantone PMS Warm Gray 11 C for future jobs or repeat installations, always use the same product type (such as spray paint or brush-in-cap bottle) and finish (gloss or matte). This helps minimize variation in appearance. Use the same Pantone reference and approval method for all runs, and test new batches on your substrate if project requirements are strict. Lighting conditions and any changes in substrate can also affect the perceived color, so maintain consistency in application environments when possible.
Proper surface preparation is key to achieving an accurate and consistent look with Pantone PMS Warm Gray 11 C. Make sure the surface is clean, dry, and free of debris or grease. For most substrates, lightly scuffing glossy surfaces will help paint adhere better. If possible, test a small area first to confirm adhesion and appearance. Following these steps reduces the risk of uneven coverage or altered color perception that can arise from poor prep or surface contamination.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
