Pantone™ PMS 608 C

Pantone PMS 608 C is often specified on prototypes and concept models to demonstrate accurate brand color during early review stages. When using PMS 608 C for such projects, select the paint format most similar to your target production process, like spray paint for plastics or paint pens for fine details. Evaluate samples in the actual finish planned for launch, and check color appearance in both typical and critical lighting. Confirm that the color performs visually as intended before proceeding to larger production runs or client presentations.

Pantone codes like PMS 608 C are ideal for brand-facing projects but are not designed for touch up on existing coated products. If you need to match a surface for touch up quality results, it is recommended to send a physical part or panel for precise matching. This ensures the new paint accounts for substrate, gloss, and any color drift that may exist on the original item, which Pantone specs alone do not cover.

When reviewing PMS 608 C samples for approval, use consistent lighting that matches your display or installation conditions. Always compare samples on the same substrate and in the intended finish, since gloss or matte can influence the perceived color. Allow coatings to fully dry and cure before making final decisions, as color shifts can occur during drying. This process helps ensure PMS 608 C looks correct and meets brand standards in its actual application.

Pantone PMS 608 C can be ordered in formats such as custom spray paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, and select professional paint types like epoxy or urethane. Choose spray paint for even coverage on large or shaped items, paint pens for detail work or touch lines, and brush-in-cap bottles for tests and small areas. The ideal format depends on your application process, substrate, and required coverage.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
