PMS 482 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, a global communication standard for precise color specification across print, display, and environment design. The color presents a restrained, neutral, earthy, calm, and understated vibe, and is frequently chosen where warmth and approachability are desired. With an LRV of 64.07, this color falls in the light range and demonstrates soft chroma with a muted character.

- PMS 482 C appears light in value (LRV 64.07). - The color gives a warm impression, trending toward beige with subtle brown undertones. - This color is low in chroma and reads as softly muted rather than vibrant. - Undertones are predominantly warm, with a gentle, earthy base that avoids overt pink or orange casts. - This color is generally low in finish sensitivity but may show slightly more warmth when rendered in satin or gloss finishes compared to matte.

PMS 482 C is most effective when a soft, inviting, and professional appearance is needed—such as in branding elements, signage, or environmental graphics where a bright white or strong primary color would be too stark. It is well-suited for applications seeking to communicate trust and calmness. When specifying this color, be aware that lighting (particularly warm versus cool LEDs) can shift its earthiness and relative warmth; always verify under site conditions and selected finish. Compared to similar muted beiges, PMS 482 C tends to maintain a more stable warmth and is less prone to green or pink shifts.

Similar colors:
PMS 468 C – Lighter and slightly less saturated; reads as a paler beige with cooler undertones.

PMS 7527 C – Considerably lighter and more neutral, lacking the depth of PMS 482 C’s warm base.

PMS 479 C – Darker and more pronounced in chroma, providing a richer and deeper brown appearance than PMS 482 C.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 482 C

Why does it matter that PMS 482 C is reproduced by a licensed Pantone manufacturer?

Ordering PMS 482 C paint from a licensed Pantone manufacturer ensures you are getting a color that closely matches the official Pantone PMS standard. Because Pantone colors like PMS 482 C are proprietary and controlled standards, only authorized producers are permitted to create paint to this specification. Using a licensed source helps protect your brand consistency and ensures your project meets visual requirements for logos, displays, or marketing environments that specify PMS 482 C.

How do I choose the right paint type for PMS 482 C in an interior or exterior project?

The best paint type for PMS 482 C depends on where and how it will be used. For interior applications like signage, displays, or elements exposed only to indoor conditions, an interior paint format will provide good results and visual fidelity. For exterior or outdoor uses, select an exterior-rated paint in PMS 482 C for protection against weather and UV exposure. If durability or application method is important, specify whether you need spray paint, house paint, or specialty finishes available for marketing and display uses. Review your site needs and confirm with project requirements before ordering.

Can PMS 482 C be directly matched to paint colors from brands like Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore?

PMS 482 C is a unique Pantone color defined for consistency across print and digital formats. It does not have a direct, guaranteed match in other paint brand collections such as Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore. Attempting to cross-reference PMS 482 C to other brands often results in noticeable differences in appearance. If your project requires adherence to the PMS 482 C standard, always specify it by code and source it from a supplier authorized to produce Pantone matches for branding applications.

What should I know about shipping and transit times when ordering PMS 482 C paint?

Shipping and transit times for PMS 482 C paint depend on your location, the selected shipping method, and current demand. Custom-matched Pantone paint may require production time before shipping. To avoid deadline issues for marketing, display, or fabrication projects, order as early as possible and review estimated timelines at checkout. Expedited options may be available but should be planned for in advance, especially for large projects or time-sensitive installations.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 482 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 482 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 482 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
