PMS 328 C is a standardized color from the Pantone Matching System (PMS) collection, widely utilized for brand-critical physical and print applications. The color presents a distinctly cool, saturated teal with a dark value that reads as both sophisticated and assertive. Its vibe is professional, modern, technical, and bold, making it suitable for projects where a strong visual impact and consistent color reproduction are essential.
PMS 328 C appears clearly dark, with a low light reflectance value (LRV 10.66).
The color reads as cool due to its blue-green hue.
It presents strong saturation, resulting in a vivid and noticeable appearance.
Undertones tend toward blue, which emphasizes its technical and modern feel.
The color may exhibit some finish sensitivity; higher-gloss finishes can amplify brightness and apparent saturation.
PMS 328 C is frequently associated with technology and corporate branding, where it supports a message of innovation and reliability.
The color is often used in marketing displays, signage, and environmental branding for sectors requiring a strong, contemporary image.
PMS 328 C works effectively when a saturated, cool teal is needed for brand alignment or visual differentiation, particularly in environments where accurate brand color is critical. Care should be taken to evaluate the color under the intended lighting, as its dark value and heavy saturation can be affected by both finish and ambient light level. Compared to similar deep teals, PMS 328 C is relatively vivid and less muted, and may require additional coating steps to achieve full opacity, especially on light or contrasting substrates.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

The durability of Pantone PMS 328 C in spray paint form depends on several key factors: the type and preparation of the substrate, the use of suitable primers and topcoats, and the conditions the painted item will face. For best results, surfaces must be properly cleaned and prepared before application. Adding a clear protective topcoat can increase resistance to abrasion and weather. Select a paint type and topcoat rated for your project's level of handling or exposure. Discuss your durability needs at the time of ordering to ensure you receive the most appropriate paint formulation.
Whether you need a primer for Pantone PMS 328 C depends on the substrate material, the specific paint type, and your durability goals. Primers are recommended for bare metals, plastics, wood, or any surface where adhesion is uncertain. They also improve the overall finish and long-term performance. Skipping primer can risk poor adhesion and reduce the lifespan of your color. For detailed substrate and primer guidance, consult technical resources or contact customer support when planning your project.
Pantone PMS 328 C is a deep, vivid teal with strong saturation, which may have lower hide on light or contrasting surfaces. Full opacity often requires multiple coats, especially to achieve brand-level color consistency. Using a tinted undercoat or gray base can help improve coverage uniformity and minimize the number of topcoats needed. Always evaluate coverage and color in your project's lighting and finish to ensure your final result meets expectations.
Pantone PMS 328 C is widely cited as a corporate color in information technology and electronics sector branding, such as in trade show and retail display environments. While usage can vary, these associations reflect how PMS 328 C is utilized for impactful brand expression where color consistency is critical.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 328 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
