A match of ICI 817 Chalk is a very light warm off-white with a soft cream and yellow-beige undertone. It has low chroma and a muted, chalky character, so it reads quieter than a bright white and less brown than a deeper beige.
MyPerfectColor custom spray paint matched to the selected brand color can be used on small parts and accessories where a light, understated finish is needed. It is well suited to vent covers, switch plates, speaker grilles, shelf brackets, frames, railings, mailboxes, hardware, PVC trim pieces, and other removable items that benefit from even coverage along edges and recesses.
Because this is a very light color, darker substrates, uneven primers, or strong underlying colors can show through more easily. Surface preparation, consistent film build, and the chosen finish can all affect how warm or clean the color reads, and a second coat may be needed for uniform coverage on contrasting surfaces.

The SDS is tied to the MyPerfectColor product formulation, not the color name alone. For 817 Chalk by ICI, check the MyPerfectColor Safety Data Sheets page here: https://www.myperfectcolor.com/Safety-Data-Sheets/33970.htm.
If you need the SDS for the exact product you plan to order, use the sheet for the MyPerfectColor paint formulation rather than the brand color name by itself.
Yes. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint matched to 817 Chalk by ICI is a practical option for small parts and fixtures such as switch covers, knobs, vents, speaker grilles, brackets, trim pieces, and similar items.
This format is useful when you want a sprayed finish on parts that are small, removable, or awkward to brush. Make sure the item is cleaned and prepped appropriately before painting.
It can work on many plastics, but plastics vary a lot, so test the actual material before committing to the full project. MyPerfectColor spray paint matched to 817 Chalk by ICI usually sticks well to most plastics, but prep matters and some low-energy surfaces need extra care.
Using the MyPerfectColor primer can improve adhesion on challenging substrates. If you are unsure about the plastic type, test a small area first and verify that the surface is clean, dry, and properly prepared. For MyPerfectColor spray paint matched to 817 Chalk by ICI, dry-to-touch usually happens within minutes. Recoating is typically best after 1 to 2 hours, and full cure is about 2 weeks.
These are different stages. Dry-to-touch means the surface is no longer tacky, recoat time is when another coat can usually be applied, and full cure is when the coating has reached its final hardness and durability.
Even when the match to 817 Chalk by ICI is correct, the finished appearance can still shift because of lighting, sheen, substrate texture, and the colors around it. The same color can read a little differently on metal, plastic, wood, or a previously coated part.
If the item will sit next to an existing painted surface, test the matched coating on the actual material and look at it under the intended lighting before finishing the whole project. That is the best way to judge the final appearance of the MyPerfectColor match.
MyPerfectColor has an original sample of the ICI 817 Chalk in its color archive. This enables us to make paint and verify that it matches the original.

While MyPerfectColor can provide paint matched to the ICI 817 Chalk, we don't provide any crossover information because this is a subjective determination. Every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, so determining which color is the best approximation is a judgement call.
However, under the color image on a color page there is a link that says "Explore Related Colors". Clicking this link displays colors with similar values and you can look for any colors from the company you want.
Keep in mind that this just shows similar colors based on the color values we have stored in our database. It doesn't mean it is the same or give any approximation about how close the color is. You can play around with the Hue, Lightness and Chroma sliders to expand the selection.
