• Hot-dip galvanized steel: Remove zinc salts (weather/brush/wash), degrease. Use an etch/wash or galvanized adhesion primer, then epoxy or suitable intermediate before the RAL 5000 topcoat.
• Aluminum or stainless: Degrease and abrade. Use an epoxy or self-etch primer (epoxy preferred for stainless), then topcoat in RAL 5000.
• Previously coated surfaces: Clean, degloss, and test compatibility. Spot-prime any bare metal with the appropriate primer, then apply RAL 5000.
• Plastics: Use only if the coating system is approved for the plastic. Apply adhesion promoter and compatible primer as specified by the system, then RAL 5000.

Always confirm primer/topcoat compatibility per the product TDS, match gloss/texture expectations, and test a small area when doing field repairs.
